Canada Geese Over Farm/ Sepia Scenes

Canada Geese flying over Scugog Island, Port Perry, Ontario

It was early evening and four geese were heading for a place to spend the night.

I worked on this photo in two layers. The bottom layer was in colour and the top in sepia at 70% opaque, which allows come colour to show through.

Leroy/ Camera Critters

Leroy on a farm just east of East Gwillimbury

The day I met Leroy he was being bullied by a jealous horse who wanted me to take his photo rather than the donkey's. Hmmm. But, as it turns out, Leroy is the real KING of the paddock and no one should push him too far. Leroy's hooves are powerful!

Look at all the burrs on Leroy's face!

Ramshackle Barn/ Sepia Scenes

Weather-worn but still in use

Half sepia, which means I worked on this photo in two layers. The bottom layer was in colour and the top in sepia at 70%, which allows the green to show through.

Boat Launch/ Sky Watch

Boat Launch on Cook's Bay, Keswick, Ontario

This is what one boat launch looked like a few minutes before I took the SOOC (straight out of the camera) shot I posted last Saturday. It was a long, varied and beautiful sunset. And the temperature was ideal too!

Stained glass/ Sepia Scenes

Old church window in Olcott, New York

Using Photoshop Elements, I played with this photo in layers. I left Layer 1 in colour and changed layer 2 to sepia, then erased the sepia in the window to reveal the blue glass.

Lake Scugog Ferry/ Watery Wednesday

Care to view the lake during lunch or dinner?

I have never actually seen this boat out on the lake. I've always seen it at the dock in Port Perry, but according to the brochure we picked up, the ferry takes passengers around the lake and serves lunch or dinner several times every week, May through October. We peeked through the windows and, sure enough, the bottom floor was filled with tables and chairs.

Swallowtail/ Camera Critters

Swallowtail on purple asters

Can anyone identify this swallowtail? I think black swallowtails have blue as well as yellow spots so I'm not sure what kind this one is.
