Halloween/ Bench

Trick or Treat!
As you can see, a pumpkin, a small gourd and a fake jack-o'-lantern are resting up for their big night on Saturday.  Luckily they found a BENCH to sit on while they wait. Although Miss Muffit is nowhere to be found, the spider would like to sit there too. And the cat can hardly wait to see what will happen when the three on the bench realize the spider is there. The scarecrow crow is... WAIT!  A scarecrow crow?

I think kids must live at this house, don't you?

A few bloggers have informally joined RuneE at Visual Norway in featuring benches on their blogs on Fridays. To find out who else is playing,  click HERE.

Old-Style Cottage/ Sepia Scenes

Older cottage on the shore of the canal at Buckhorn, Ontario

Abandoned till next spring, I suspect, this cottage is far away from the hustle and bustle of modern life.

Colour Across the River/ Watery Wednesday

Autumn colour on the other side of the river

I tried to get to the river's edge before the boat sped by but all you can see is its wake. My trek wasn't a total loss though because the view on the opposite shore was picturesque (if you ignore the twigs between my lens and the water).

"Rainbow" Leaf/ Macro Monday

Maple leaf coloured in maroon (almost purple), red, orange, yellow, green...

OK, no blue here but all the other colours in the rainbow are represented, sort of. I just had to show you a closeup of this beautiful leaf.

Fire Over Queensville/ Sky Watch

The sun setting over Queensville (Easy Gwillimbury), Ontario

Still fields and trees, one day this beautiful setting will be covered with subdivisions. Urban sprawl, I'm afraid. York Region, of which East Gwillimbury is a part, is one of the fastest growing areas in North America.

The Ferry/ Watery Wednesday

The Ferry to Snake Island on Lake Simcoe

Once the lake freezes over, the ferry will close down for another year. Many of the cottages are  closed down already. It's hard to believe that snowmobiles, all terrain vehicles and ice huts will once again rule over these waters.
