Out of Service, In Service

 Out of service

This rusty, old tractor is sitting in front a building in the Holland Marsh, a former marsh that was drained about a century ago for growing vegetables. A small portion of this growing area is in East Gwillimbury. This tractor looks like it may have been one of the earliest tractors to work the surrounding fields, dontcha think?

In Service

I'm not sure how old this Santa actually is (his voice sounded kinda young) but he sure does LOOK old!
In celebration of the old and wonderful "stuff", I  am connecting to Rubbish Tuesday HERE.

Yes, the tractor does look very old, but I like it's rustic charm.

I've been in the Marsh area many times. It's quite a lovely part of the province.

Santa's going to be busy in a couple of days!

You certainly have a plethora of old farm machinery in your area. This one, I think, was one of the earliest tractors at the beginning of time! I could drive it, though, as I've been told I have a rusty old halo.

Great Santa pic!

I wonder what the springs on the seat of that old tractor would have been like...

Something outta service = tractor. Something very much 'in' on the evening of the 24th. Flying high.

That's a nice Santa, sparkly white and clean beard and hat. Poor old tractor...

This can't have been a comfortable ride, but I know that's not the point. I love the sound of these old tractors.
And yours is quite a handsome Santa, young or old. He seems to fit the fill nicely.

Both are great shots. I think you might be right about that tractor...it looks pretty old. As for Santa, he looks like he 'HOHOHO's' a lot...judging by the laugh lines round his eyes. I think he is perfect for then role :-) Merry Christmas...
