Fancy Details

 Shadow of fancy details

I find it interesting that new homes in my area (maybe in yours too) have added details that look kinda Victorian...but not really.

Oh, I love your fancy shadow shots for the day!! I've seen some of these "details" on some new homes here in Portland and I really like them! A nice "look back"!! Hope you're enjoying your weekend!!

They do evoke that era.

i love gingerbread on houses and this is beautiful, modern day ginger bread, but what makes the photos special is the LIGHT and the shadows.

It looks really nice indeed.

it does give them the "old" touch. Personally I love gingerbread trim on houses.

I"m not to well versed in Victorian but I wonder is "kinda Victorian" sort of like "kinda pregnant?"

I almost like the shadows better!

I'll have to pay more attention. Haven't seen any signs of a Victorian resurgence. :-)

Nice capture with the shadows.

That is interesting detail to add to a house, it does give it a rather Victorian air. I like the shadows. I see that kind of detail on houses in Portland, but not so much where I live.

Instantly I thought of a little gingerbread cottage. I like these extra little attentions to detail of a design.

I love Victorian details EG, but they just wouldn't look right on my 1970's house unfortunately :)

they have something similar, on the house they are building next door to use. the house they have been building for 18 months, and it's till not done!!

i like these little touches, they kind of personalize the home!!!

Love these architectural details and nice play in the shadows.

Hmmm. This one is done rather cheaply, EG, but at least they are trying to make their houses more attractive.
