Dead Wood/ Watery Wednesday

Stumps, trunks and branches in an old mill pond

On a calm day, the reflections on this mill pond called to my camera and me. Doesn't the reflection and the log sticking out of the water on the right look a little like an alligator with jagged teeth?

  3. Hi and thanks for visiting my blog while I was away.
I've scrolled through your latest shots and they are as expected all blooming marvellously detailed.
This watery photo is so full of mystique and atmosphere it should be displayed as an illustration for some great novel. Right there on the cover.

  14. Love the reflections. Reminds me of some lakes in Texas.

Did you have a particular reason for not doing this in black and white?

  16. Oh, yes, that's an alligator! And the four posts are part of a castle. The weird wood at right is a witch, descending upon the scene.

  26. Great reflections. I love to look for still lakes and ponds to see what I can see reflected in the water. I love the "alligator". We look for real alligators here in FL, but most times they are just sleeping!
