Dragons at the Gate

 Close up

A sculptor lives out in the country near Sunderland, Ontario, who has a HUGE dragon out in front of his barn (see bottom photo) and two dragons at the entrance to his long driveway.

Sorry about the shadows on the dragon - it was a very bright day and I took the photo from the bottom of the driveway so wasn't in the best position!

  7. I love dragons almost as much as I love gargoyles. Have you seen the meme/gif going around with the baby dragon blowing the woman the smoky heart? So cute.

  9. Fantastic! I've just finished reading "The Hobbit" for about the tenth time. I kind of expected to see Bilbo peeking out from behind a fence post!
    Have a great day!

  15. I'd be tired from draggin' those dragons around the yard. I like the sculptures, but I don't know why someone would create dragons...except...they are said to be a sign of something good n Japan (can't remember what).

  16. In China the symbol of the dragon stands for good luck and prosperity, but this artist seems to have spent considerable time on these creations.

  22. The sculpture is particularly eye-catching. Should be in a public place where everyone, especially children, could enjoy it.
