Old Barn & Chicken Coop

Like Kim at Celine Daily Photo, I love old barns. And just as "progress" is changing Texas it's also revamping Ontario.

I keep wondering how this can really be "progress" if homes, roads and industries are taking up most of Ontario's farmlands. But what do I know? Maybe I'm wrong and some big hand from the sky is going to reach down and save us from ourselves.
Here's a another view of the same barn. This clearly shows that the chicken coop is no longer in use. The hole in the roof gives that away. LOL

  3. I only saw these on TV at one time... now I am a 'Barn Fan' ha! that sounds kinda sad.. but I'm sure you know what I mean. Like you I would not like to see these and the farms lost and replaced by housing and all that brings with it. I live in a built part of town.. houses crammed together and walls that thin I can hear next doors TV.. how I long for views like this. I hope this area stays just like this for ever and a day..
    Wecan live in hope.

  4. So beautiful. I love these old barns. We have many here too. Some falling in disrepair and some still lovingly used. Full of cows and hay and being held together with love. Our old barn was used years ago as housing for seasonal workers/ MB

  5. The barns in the north look like much better structures than the ones in the south. I love this one!

  7. Maybe your barn and my stone house us might tell two aspects of the same story? (I'm sorry to say, I don't believe in any BIG Hand From the Sky - we'll have to do the job ourselves.

Thank you for a nice comment!

  9. Just a little money gift to The Nature Conservancy now and again will go a long way to protecting us all from some of this "progress".
