Driving along a quiet country road, my husband and I came upon this important-looking guy walking in the opposite direction. Where is he going? Where has he been? Is he supposed to be on the loose?
My husband stopped for barely a second to let me shoot a couple of photos. Not enough time for me to get a decent shot! My husband was anxious to drive to the next driveway to let the owner know the peacock was footloose and fancy free.
Ha! It turns out the peacock didn't belong at that house. Hmmm.
But the fellow who answered the door said there are three farms in that neighbouthood that own peacocks and ALL of them are allowed to go free. But apparently, they always return home to roost at night.
So what would YOU do if you saw a peacock walking down the road?
What would I do? Come to a screaming halt and get my camera out!!
ReplyDeleteI would get out my camera and take a few pics and then go merrily on my way. MB
ReplyDeleteI understand peacocks can be noisy, so don't buy a house there, just drive by with the camera.
ReplyDeleteThey are beautiful birds and great watchdogs and will let the owners know if anybody is coming on the farm or property. I don't know what they do with them in the dead of winter when it is so cold outside. They are nice photos and show the splendid coloring.
ReplyDeleteMy cousin used to have peacocks on her farm. They always roamed freely but somehow I never saw them on the road.
ReplyDeleteGood thing you travel with your camera, you find such interesting things to show us.
Darla
I'd do just the same as you.. take a picture. ;o)
ReplyDeleteExactly what any photographer would do--get so excited I could hardly function to work the camera! He sure is a dandy looking guy, isn't he?
ReplyDeleteI would be shocked to see a peacock. Haven't seen one in years. Of course I'd grab my camera too. lol
ReplyDeleteThey are impressive birds. The ladies can be a bit loud, and the fellows proud, but I put it down to good character.
ReplyDeleteI saw one of these guys on Holborn Rd. today. At first I thought it was a wild turkey. Silly I know but my mind just wasn't willing to see a Peacock at first! It was a great way to start my day.
