Is this bee drunk on pollen or what! Is it the heady aroma of the rugosas that draws bees to my hedge then make them act completely daft?
And what about this bee? She's actually wrapping herslf around the stamens to get as much pollen as possible.
I don't know for sure about the bees, but for ME it's the perfume. Breathe in deeply...mmmmmmm.
That's either a very big bee or a wasp!
ReplyDeleteLovely shots.
Beautiful pictures! My mom has some of these roses too, I think. The old varieties are my favorites. In Turkey they make wonderful rose-petal jam.
ReplyDeleteI've seen the odd bee that seems drunk.. Abe Lincoln as some great pictures of drunken bees on one of his blogs.. I love the smell of a good rose, but I do not think you can beat honeysuckle from its scent.
ReplyDeleteThank God for pollinators. We got at least four more years to live if they stay.
ReplyDeleteYour photos are magnificent. I like them and the details.
Great photo's. I love the bee acrobatics.
ReplyDeleteDarla

ReplyDeleteOld Tom Wigly,
ReplyDeleteHoneysickle is good too. ;-)
Abraham Lincoln,
Four more years? Yippee!
For the People,
Yes, macro.
Great pics. Maybe the bee is doing a dance and just happy. MB
