We have several chipmunks living in burrows around the yard and, yes, in my gardens. This one likes to walk the wall in front of our house. I feed him a few sunflower seeds every day, so I knew he'd appear eventually as I weeded the garden. Since I neglected to leave him any seeds this time, he stayed only long enough time for me to snap his picture. As you can see, he knew I was there and wasn't taking any chances. My husband says if I continue to leave him a few seeds every day he'll stick around longer. ;-)

Lovely picture of a handsome little guy.
ReplyDeleteCute! I'm guessing they don't actually dig and eat in your garden or you wouldn't be so welcoming.

Now this is a very cute little fella. He was so nice to stay long enough for you to get the shot.
ReplyDeleteWe have them here too and get some pleasure in watching them work.

EG: That is a wonderful capture of the chipmunk, very nicely done.
ReplyDeleteI just saw another great chipmunk picture! These make me happy. They are just so fun to watch! I'd probably be guilty of leaving him more than a "few" seeds!
ReplyDeleteI, too, would be leaving more than a few seeds. Where my husband worked, his crew had the chipmunks so gentle they would all come and take stuff from their hands.
ReplyDeleteThis is a great picture, BTW.
Great shot!
ReplyDeleteI played too :)
I caught one once and kept him as a pet. He lived 4 more years. I always wondered if he had a longsr life span that if I had left him in the wild. I wouldn't do it again because one shouldn't. MB
ReplyDeleteWhat a sweet-looking guy. Nice how you captured him with those green leaves/grass shooting out; provides a nice framework for the shot.
ReplyDeleteVery cute!
ReplyDeleteNice little chap! I had two chippies in my garden last year but haven't seen them this year.
ReplyDeleteI think last winter was pretty hard on little creatures, as we have very few squirrels this summer, compared to the marauding herds of them we had last summer.
Chipmunks are one of my favorite little critters. This is so cute and such a clear image.
ReplyDeleteGreat job!
Absolutely gorgeous and beautiful photo!
ReplyDeleteVery good photograph with beautiful colours!
ReplyDeleteCute creature!
Our lab goes absolutely bonkers over these little guys...fortunately he has never caught one....not sure what he would do if he did!
ReplyDeletewhat a great photo you got of him too just gorgeous
ReplyDeleteYour photos are so beautiful! I love your blog :)
ReplyDeleteHe's a cutie pie!
ReplyDeleteHe's a handsome fellow. We don't have chipmunks here in HAwaii, but I always watch for them when I travel to the U.S. Mainland.
