Between the Pond and the Tracks/ Favourite Things

Between the pond and railway tracks where I often hunt for dragonflies and butterflies is a narrow strip of land, which in late July and early August was alive with flora and fauna. At the moment, it's one of my favourite haunts to take my camera.

The collage showcases a few examples of what I've discovered there recently. From the bottom right and working clockwise: birch tree, purple loosestrife (a lovely but invasive alien), dragonfly, cherries, northern cloudwing butterfly, and thistle.

  1. Each shot is gorgeous on its own, yet combined in a collage they are even more magnificent. I love the contrast of the red cherry and the white of the birch trees. Nice post!
