(Odd Shots is the post below.)
Here's an antique steam engine run by steam. You BOIL water to make steam, right? ;-)
And here's a view of the other side. Both sides (tee hee) photographed at the Uxbridge-Scott Museum in Uxbridge, Ontario.
By the way, some of you have comment boxes that I cannt use. I work on a Mac, and although I've tried three different browsers, I cannot leave comments. TINK, your blog is one of them.

These are simply awesome! Intriguing! Weird! Fantastic! Like giant size toys! Love them!
ReplyDeleteWonderful entry! Sorry you aren't able to use the comment boxes. I have friends that blog on Macs that aren't having any troubles. Some use IE, some use Firefox 3.0. Maybe you should try upgrading your browsers to the latest versions to see if that helps/
ReplyDeleteYou must have been hard pressed to decide whether to us this contraption for OS.
ReplyDeletesometimes I feel like I should be old enough to remember the steam engines...haha
ReplyDeleteWhat I think is funny is the subdivision in the background.
ReplyDeleteThis reminds me of childhood when my parents would take us to steam engine exhibits. I can hear it! Very nice picture.
ReplyDeleteRobyn,
ReplyDeleteI agree. That's why I decided to make sure I said the photo was taken at a museum! ;-)
Must be something wrong with your settings on your Mac. I got one and it works in Safari and FireFox. Is your settings wrong.
ReplyDeleteThis is an excellent photograph of an engine like those used around here during World War II. They used them to power things the big engines could run.
Boil works. You have to make a fire somewhere though. Great shot of the museum piece. MB
ReplyDeleteAbraham,
ReplyDeleteThanks for your input. I'll investigate further.
Big red toy! :-)

I too am unable to leave comments at Tink's blog and I use a PC with firefox and I have tried IE. I don't know what it is, but I give up.
ReplyDeleteSometimes it's more trouble than it's worth with all the numbers, letters etc and I have some fine motor issues due to my MS.
I think if you moderate the comments,, you could skip all the numbers etc.
Oh my, I am on a rant. I am so sorry...Michelle
Cool steam engine!
ReplyDeleteHi. Very creative boil! I don't know what the problem is with the comment boxes. When you user Blogger hosted at blogspot.com, you don't really have a lot of control over things.
ReplyDeleteDoes it happen to you more with the pop-up comment boxes, or more with the ones that leave the front page of the blog and take you to a whole comments page?

Beautiful photos. I am a Computer Animation art student who is modeling an antique steam engine for a class project. I was doing research online and came across your photos of the red antique steam engine at the Uxbridge-Scott Museum. I am trying to find an image of the front trailer section of this steam engine to study how to model it. Do you have a photo of the front section of the steam engine that I could look at?
