Old Barns/ Fave Things

Yes, I LOVE old barns. I usually prefer them to be in better shape than this one, but even in disrepair this one is a beauty.

  1. Since I'm not using the barn, the state of disrepair is fine with me. Beautifully captured scene.

  2. I absolutely love old barns. I've been looking for some to photograph, but none are as wonderful as this. I like the old, dilapidated barns better than the ones with a fresh coat of paint. Fantastic shot!

  4. So do I! This is a great old barn. I love what appears to be stone at the foundation and the lightning rods on top - I haven't seem them in a long time.
    A really great image.

  7. Great shot.
Most old barns in the UK are now being converted into luxury homes which is sad.
But, not as sad as the many abandoned homesteads & barns I've seen out on the Saskatchewan praires.

  8. Actually, this is not so bad. If you look at the ridge of both barns or the top edge, they are as straight as a stick. If somebody wanted to have them look brand new they could put on new siding and the barns would look new again.

The roof is not sagging. The only thing in need of repair is the siding. It is a beautiful barn and may be old but it is really in good shape.

  10. I stop and take photos of barns too. I do love the one you posted today. My mind always drifts to when the barn was in full use.

  11. It's a fine barn. Actually I prefer ruins sometimes more than a new buildings, because they trigger my curiosity: I like to know what happened within their walls.

  16. I'm fond of barns too, my favorite are the bank barns from when I lived in Pennsylvania. They do catch our attention don't they. Nice post and I enjoyed your other photographs as well.
