Here you can see that although snow has been consistently falling a little every day or so, it's not very deep. Cattle are still allowed out to graze. I doubt they are finding much to eat but at least they are outdoors in the fresh air.
Added after 4 comments: OOPS! I forgot to say how I converted this photo into sepia.
Using PhotoShop Elements 6.0, I converted the original photo into B&W and then applied Old Paper, the texture of which -- in this case -- shows up best in the sky. Old paper also turns the B&W into sepia shades.

The sky looks more like snow than that on the ground!
ReplyDeleteYes, your sky looks crinkled. Did you add some kind of effect? Scan in some print that was crinkled? A neat scene overall for sepia.
ReplyDeleteSorry I missed a few days---life is spinning by. I would like to hop on that train--I'll save a place for you. We need adventure. MB
ReplyDeleteI like your sky, I love the whole picture, very ah... pastorial. :D
ReplyDeleteI love how you did that!
ReplyDeleteOutstanding. Really outstanding.
ReplyDeleteLooks like a picture from the turn of the century... and I don't mean 8 years ago!
ReplyDeleteOutstanding!! I LOVE it!
ReplyDeletethat is so neat! With the Old Paper, it really looks like a very old photo, or perhaps a print...
ReplyDeleteI am behind...been gone a lot the past two days.
ReplyDeleteI love this shot...it sure sits a mood. I remember always letting our cows out in the winter. Notice I say cows...not cattle. I guess I should write a post about that...just give myself an idea.
i love the effect on the sky. I never thought about applying that effect before but this is great.
ReplyDeleteWhat a wonderful scene for sepia!
Neat how you did that. It's a great scene.
ReplyDeleteVery nice effect you created for this shot. The wrinkled paper look really sets it off.
ReplyDeleteLooks like a shot from when my mother was a young girl.
ReplyDeleteThe old paper filter has made the snow look more bumpy too I think! I like how this turned out. It could be a photo from an old farm journal!
ReplyDeleteThe real beauty of that shot is that it could have depicted any era.
ReplyDeleteVery appropriate subject for sepia, and nicely rendered!
ReplyDeleteMy shot was almost sepia when it was in full color because of the arc lights on the street. Night shots are often that way.
I was looking at the sky and wondering when I finally read what you had done. Very nice. I love how you get yours to look like paintings.
ReplyDeleteLovely scene!
GMJudi is a hoot isn't she! :)
I like the effect of that sky. Really cool. This scene looks really cold!
ReplyDeleteIt actually looks like it was shot decades ago. Good job.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful, like it a lot.
ReplyDeleteThanks for your kind comments.
The sepia makes this image look so timeless.
ReplyDeleteI like the old paper effect! Lovely photo.
ReplyDeleteLovely! You did a great job. Have a great day!
ReplyDeleteCheers,
Nita
A very interesting look altered from the original...sky does look like paper.
ReplyDeleteI see a baby to the left..thought they were born in the Spring!
A peaceful capture.
This is the view I have right now, of the farm over the road. However, the animals are inside the barn on such a cold snow filled day.
ReplyDeleteNice effect with the paper. I love texture.
ReplyDeleteFunny how different perspectives can be - I was just thinking "those poor cows out there in the cold, I wish someone would let them back into a warm barn"!
Thought it was an old picture, then went back and read what you have done with photoshot.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful.
Amazing! It looks like it was taken off in an old book! I really like this...
ReplyDeleteMine is here. Happy SS!
One of these days I'm going to attempt to learn PhotoShop. Can I come to your house for lessons?
ReplyDeleteDarla
LOL, is there Photoshop for Dummies?
ReplyDeleteI am sure there is, and I HAVE to learn it! This is a fantastic picture tweak, I love to play with my pictures. I have Picture It, Picasso, as well as the standard Windows crap. Oh, and some other program whose name escapes me now...
We also have Photoshop but it seems so intimidating to me!
Slainte~
Rachelle
fantastic shot
ReplyDeleteI love the composition, especially the way the tree looks
The paper effect looks cool!!! It was my first time to join sepia scenes and I like this meme.
ReplyDelete-Vienna Daily
It is indeed like a picture of the early nineteen hundreds. Beautiful!!
ReplyDeleteVery nice scene in sepia! I see you used my homemade Sepia Scenes badge. I'm honored!
ReplyDeleteEG, this effect with sepia tones is wonderful! What photo-editor has Old Paper? Your SKywatch photos are amazing, too! :)
ReplyDeleteIt looks so cold there!! Brrr... lovely landscapes though.
