Willow Books, Port Perry
OK, I admit this is not the most beautiful sign in the world. BUT the words are - as the saying goes - like music to my ears. Imagine! Books at 50% off!
Did I go in? What do you think?...
One of many book-filled corners
Did I purchase anything? Hmmm, are rubies gems?
Can you come help me carry the bags?

Oh I wish I had been there, EG! Great sign: "_OOKS" Ha! Happy Ruby Tuesday!
ReplyDeleteI think you are mistaken. The sign says "OOKS". I believe you took pictures of Ooks. :-)
ReplyDeleteIt has a particular Red attraction for you? I would love it too.
ReplyDeleteBooks? May be Cooks, Hooks, Spooks
I like old book stores. Being there with $20, I would have a blast. An attention getting sign, you just had to stop! Who wouldn't?
ReplyDeleteFun Ruby Tuesday post. I would have been right with you. I hope they're not going out of business.
ReplyDeleteI just bought a slew of books through Amazon.com but through private individuals selling used books there. I love books too.
ReplyDeleteGosh, who in their right mind could resist that?! Oh my...:o)
ReplyDeleteOh I so love books and when they are a bargain it's such a bonus! Enjoy your reading...
ReplyDeleteDo you read the blog "Ook She Wrote"?
ReplyDeleteOkay, I'll stop. You've no doubt heard all the ooky humor you care to, eh?
Do they ever do library sales up there? Here the public library will sell off surplus books at ridiculously low prices -- I'm talking about 50 cents for hardcover editions ridiculous -- once a year (or maybe it's every other year, I can't recall). You can walk out of there with a grocery bag full of them for sofa cushion money. It's great!
Mojo,
ReplyDeleteMy public library has TWO used book sales a year. ;-) (April and October)
I love books---we'd have to carry each other out if I was there. I could stay all day in a book store. But I wondered whar 'ooks' were. LOL MB
ReplyDeleteI'll help you carry your bags out if you come back and help me carry mine!
ReplyDeleteLooks like a terrific place.
Does the sale mean they are getting more books and need more room? Hmmmm....
I would have been lost in there for 2-3 hours and very happily so
ReplyDeleteOoo, nothing better than a sale at the bookstore!
ReplyDeleteJan & Carletta,
ReplyDeleteThe salesperson was taking in MORE used books while I was there. It's not going out of business. ;-)
Wow!! Ahh just ship it all to my address, send the bill to the playboy mansion cod. :)
ReplyDeleteAt 50%, I'll be in that shop for quite a while!! Who would be able to resist?? :P
ReplyDeleteHappy Ruby Tuesday!!
The yellow sign here looks more appealing! U should have asked for a truck to transport the books. Ha ha!
ReplyDeleteHalf price books! Always a good thing. Hope they had a good selection too.
ReplyDeleteBooks on sale! What a happy find! I'm all excited just looking at the photo. LOL

ReplyDeleteHi EG, I just popped back to answer your comment - Yes, I grow all the roses I post. That's why I decided on a "week of roses".
ReplyDeleteWow, 50% off. How lucky can you get?
ReplyDeleteI'd need a U-Haul!LOL.
Happy RT. EG.
B.
OMGosh - do they have a website? I could or some for myself online!!!
ReplyDeleteHAPPY READING!!
ReplyDeleteI just love books. Nice and cosy bookshop it seems.
ReplyDeleteI LOVE book stores!!
ReplyDeleteand sales
great scenes for RT
Oh how I love half-price Ooks!
ReplyDeleteAhhh....I couldn't agree with u more. I love signs like this. There used to be a book store down the NJ shore I used to go to called the Bent Book. They had so many books at next to nothing which is probably why they are no longer there. Hard to make a buck when you are charging nothing for a book.
ReplyDeleteThat's my husband's heaven. He likes reading A LOT. I really enjoyed your post of My world. I want some snow....snif, snif!
ReplyDeleteoooh perfect, i too love books, the look of them, the smell of them, the feel of them....
ReplyDeleteLooks like heaven!! I love 'ooks!
ReplyDeleteI'll bet those shelves look a bit bare after your visit :-)
ReplyDeleteDarla
What I love is library sales! Our whole family has a thing for books. We cannot pass up a sale.
ReplyDeleteLOL! I just recently missed a sale like that and could have kicked myself. I forgot to buy a gift that was $80.00 and missed the half off by one day. Urrrggghhh! I'm glad you didn't miss this one. :-D
ReplyDeleteI agree! I love book stores, and ook stores ;) Especially when there's a sale! Yes!
ReplyDeleteWish I were there.
ReplyDeleteFrom Felisol
You had a sign!!! I forgot all about it!!
ReplyDeleteI enjoyed the rest of your pictures on your blog, and now I know where East Gwillimbury is located!! Great place you live in!
Oh wow....looks like my kind of place!!
ReplyDeleteIf I go to a book sale, I ahve to go with a limited amount of money or I might spend the rent money on books! lol
ReplyDeleteI got a real kick out of this post. I can relate to the book fever but then I don't like those small musty shops.... no air.
ReplyDeleteGreat sign and half-price most welcomed, right?
ReplyDeleteHappy Belated Ruby Tuesday!
