Feeling Crabby?/ Ellipsis...

Crab apples in February

Only a crab apple could feel crabby on Valentine's Day, right?

I can't believe the birds have left these on a neighbourhood tree. Maybe they're saving them for dessert?

This week's Ellipsis...Monday Photo Shoot assignment (due Sunday night, February 15) is "red."

FYI: Camera Critters is the post below.

  1. Red "apples" against a blue sky - I liked that.

  2. The crab apples look a little like they have frozen and thawed a few times. Nice placement.

  3. Crab apples are what a lot of stay-over-winter birds eat here where I live. Robins especially. But a whole tree can be consumed by a flock of starlings.

  4. Hi New Friend :)

This is your first time playing the Monday Photo Shoot... right? I wish I had your first name so I can introduce you properly on the Linking List next Monday, but for now I will say New Friend :)

CRABAPPLES! I LOVE them! I used to buy spiced crabapples for Thanksgiving and Christmas, but they stopped selling them in the stores around the Bay Area... can't find them anywhere! :( I really miss them a lot, so this picture made me smile. Fun.

Welcome, once again, I hope you will be able to join us each Monday for a new photo shoot assignment!

    All my best, Carly

  7. It's pretty amazing that they've hung on this long. Don't you get a lot of snow and ice where you are? It's a lovely shot against the blue. I love it when people aren't afraid to photograph flowers and fruits when they aren't at their "best."

    Welcome to EMPS!
