Evidence of roof repair This old house is actually in very good repair so I was surprised to see how the shingles on the tower roof didn't match in several places. I imagine that since the angle is so steep that this requires scaffolding to work on it.

Nice one! I love that title to go with the roof!
ReplyDeleteI have often thought I would hate to be the one to have to roof something like this...
ReplyDeleteThis "sepia"is stunning! You chose a perfect landscape for that!Great shot!
ReplyDeleteLéia :-)
Can you imagine trying to do that roof? I guess whatever shingles were handy were the ones used.
ReplyDeleteDarla
fantastic!! Love the house, I want to see more of it!!... ah, please? :D
ReplyDeleteMaybe a lift? I sure wouldn't want to try to shingle that steep of a roof.
ReplyDeleteA beauty of a picture and a tower. I WOULD NOT try to climb it!
ReplyDeleteI like these old gothic looking buildings...easy to imagine bats flying out at twilight. :)
ReplyDeleteIs that bricks on the side of the tower? Are they raised?
ReplyDeleteWhat I like best about this is the various angles, curves and lines...plus the B&W contrast.
ReplyDeleteGreat job!
I wonder how old that house is. At least it is getting repaired and nobody wants to do a steep roof.
ReplyDeleteCool looking house, though. MB
If not for the shape of it, the patchwork ugliness would turn me away. . . I love houses with turrets.
ReplyDeleteNo thanks, I wouldn't want to get up there and patch up the roof.... a little too high for me.
ReplyDeleteI like it that way, patchwork design works well here IMO.

What a cool shot Kerri. Sepia just makes it better yet.
ReplyDeleteB.
Great sepia entry!! I love that type of architecture and it is especially attractive in sepia where there is no color to distract from the great line of the roof!!! Thanks for sharing.
ReplyDeleteWhat a great old building, and the roof texture has so much character. It looks great in sepia.
ReplyDeleteRepair. It's a beauty.
ReplyDeleteLove the gentle arc of the tower roof! And the textures and shapes look wonderful in sepia!
ReplyDeleteI love the turret, and the texture from the missing shingles. nice shot. Hope you can stop by to see my sepia scene Thanks!
ReplyDeleteThis house is so stylish, especially with the turret. The price for style is a roof that has to be re-shingled at great effort. Unlike a newer house, the style here evokes a different era, no two houses are ever alike...
ReplyDeleteThis is a wonderful sepia scene. I don't think I would like to get up there to replace the shingles. Thanks for sharing this with us.
ReplyDeleteLove this shot, perfect for skywatch.
ReplyDeleteHave a great weekend.

Great building. Great shot.
ReplyDeleteSydney - City and Suburbs
What a terrific shot! The title is perfect!
ReplyDeleteHave a great weekend!
This is an extraordinary house, EG! My house has tile shingles and over the years roofers run out of shingles that are the same color... Thanks for sharing this great sepia shot! :)
ReplyDeleteGreat shot. Nice sepia. I haven't participated yet)
ReplyDeleteI imagine you're right! But your good fortune, it makes an excellent photo op!
ReplyDeleteThis photo piques my imagination. Lovely.
ReplyDeleteOld homes are artwork. I don't blame them for leaving the patchwork as is - I would be terrified if I was the one hired to fix it.
ReplyDeleteI love these old houses. They're so neat.
ReplyDeleteSuch a pretty picture !!
ReplyDeleteLove this arcitectual in black and white.
Nice week to you from Anne
Expensive too.
ReplyDeleteDragonstar has an ideal Deja Vu to go with his shot.
It's a lovely building - I think I'd enjoy living there (if it were in good repair), but I definitely wouldn't want to be responsible for shingling that roof!
ReplyDeleteI suppose it's difficult to get tiles to match if they're old. I love your description as patchwork though.
ReplyDeleteI just love this!!
ReplyDeleteAnd the title you choosed ;)
The sepia is stunning!
Keep up the good work!
Anna
