From the Ridge/ Sky Watch

Looking down from a ridge over a woods and farmer's field beyond

As the sun prepares to set, it's shining into and reflecting out of a huge puddle in a farm field.

We've had tons of rain this spring. You might be thinking this would make the local mosquitoes happy but it has also been unseasonably cool, which mosquitoes hate. I've put my mittens away for the season, though!

  9. That's such a beautiful sunset from the ridge. We have had a cooler spring for us although it's hot as all get out now. I have noticed that although quite wet we haven't been hit by early mosquitoes like we are when it was warmer earlier.

  39. Any concerns about this issue, EG?
Province lets Barrie annex swathes of farmland, critics fear moves will kill plans to contain sprawl

Quite a story, annexing a place. Makes me think of Harris days when he amalgamated everything, and messed up many small cities (i.e., Ottawa & Nepean). Nepean went from a terrific city, no debt, to debt...one fell swoop.

Wonderful composition and colours. I love the puddle reflection of the setting sun.

Not many mosquitos round these arts, thanks to the county's vigorous mosquite abatement program..
