Lake Simcoe just before sunset
A lake is the landscape's most beautiful and expressive feature. It is earth's eye; looking into which the beholder measures the depth of his own nature.
~Henry David Thoreau

I like the way you have the sun peeking through the tree's branches. Very nice shot.
ReplyDeleteThis is such a peaceful shot. I love sitting by a lake and daydreaming...I think lakes can be an eye into your own mind.
ReplyDeleteI bet the Lake Simcoe water's still pretty cold, we haven't really had much summery weather yet, have we?
ReplyDeleteWhat a tranquil shot. I like lakes and it is neat to find them scattered here and there. We have lots of small lakes out this way. Nice shot.
ReplyDeletei always forget about 'watery wednesday' but i have a water shot for today. MB
I like the sun's reflection on the water as well as the sun peeking between the leaves. A gorgeous picture.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful photo, EG. The reflection in the water is fabulous.
ReplyDeleteHugs,
Betsy
What a perfectly beautiful shot through the trees, over the lake with that spot of sun on the water!
ReplyDeleteI answered your question on the last post. Come see my rainy roses today!
This is a fabulous photo, just love that scenery and the reflection of the sun on the water, a beautiful sight to behold.
ReplyDeleteAaaah. My favorite place in the world to be is lakeside at sunrise and sunset. I may have to sit and stare at this awhile. Perfection.
ReplyDeleteMagnificent place and perfect shot!
ReplyDeleteI liked a lot that quote by Henry Thoreau!
Thanks for sharing
Léia
Oh, take me there! Lovely scene. I have a watery scene for today, but not nearly as pretty (not yet written, still in the head). Maybe I'll concentrate on history since I don't see the beauty.
ReplyDeleteIs it warm enough for an evening picknick?
ReplyDeleteI really like this wet sunkissyou shared with us!
ReplyDeleteThat's a beautiful shot and I love that quote. :-) And to answer your question, that is a camelia in the water.

Looks like a great place to watch a sunset. lovely post!
ReplyDeleteAll of the photos so far this week are so calming.. I really needed them to be.. Thanks.
ReplyDeleteWhat a beautiful and thought-provoking quote, also. In ancient Chinese symbolism of the I Ching, the Lake is the symbol of Pleasure. And interestingly, Water is the symbol for Danger! But the lakeside is my favorite place, it's true.
ReplyDeleteWhat a beautifully composed shot.
ReplyDeleteA beautiful frame, and it made for a very nice foreground too.
