Hmmmm--never heard of these, EG. They looked a little like cherry tomatoes to me--but I knew they weren't. My mother used to make crabapple jelly. Yum!!! Hugs, Betsy
I was out this week and some of our hedgerow hawthorns are full of berries, along with rosehips, blackberries and Elderberries... I have them all on show now on my Wiggers World Blog.
Thanks for visiting my little corner of the world. I hope you enjoyed your stay here. Please leave a comment before you leave so I can visit your blog.

they are pretty, my mother in law has a bush in her back yard and the birds just love them.
ReplyDeleteI love the colours.
ReplyDeleteThe Chinese make them into dried disc and kids are encouraged to eat them as an alternate to sweets and biscuits.
Unsweetened ones are used to treat a stomach ache.
I have never been to China. Your photo is the first one I have seen. I wonder if they have it in New Zealand.
Are these berries edible? good shot.
ReplyDeleteAre you making pots of jam? I'd love to try some and didn't know the berries could be used that way.
