Swallowtail/ Camera Critters

Swallowtail on purple asters

Can anyone identify this swallowtail? I think black swallowtails have blue as well as yellow spots so I'm not sure what kind this one is.

  7. How can I follow Judi! :)
Lovely shot. The blurred yellow background sure brings out the center of that aster very nicely.

  11. I wonder if it is one of these:

    Giant
    Favist
    Black

All are Swallowtails and some of the photos I have seen resemble what you have.

No matter what it is -- it is gorgeous and I am soooo jealous of you capturing it with your camera. I tried to get a photo of one while hiking yesterday and it was too elussive but was so beutiful.
