Ready For Snow/ Ruby Tuesday

Seen outside an antiques and collectibles store, this sled is ready for snow, but I'm not...not quite yet. The Greater Toronto Area is breaking a record held since the 1930s 1847 for no snow in November. Whoohoo!

Seeing red? Why not join in the Ruby Tuesday fun, by visiting MaryT at http://workofthepoet.blogspot.com/

  1. Nice red runners on that sled, and it looks like there is another sled by its side. Good shot!

  10. A rare example of an old sled standing next to its mother. The red runners, wow, how did they think of that?

  11. That's an oldie, but goodie! I like the fact it's got a place to put your arms when you're careening down a hill!

    Beautiful photo, EG!

We haven't had any snow here yet, either! ;-)

  12. I love it. Keep breaking those records I say. I am not ready for snow but then again all we have gotten here since October is RAIN and more rain. It can get very depressing--so gray all the time. Not to mention cold and wet. I sound like I am whining--oops I am. But I am smiling---through my tears. Hahaha!!

    Love that little sleigh. MB

  14. beautiful photo
it has both a vintage and modern feel to it
I'm hoping for no snow as well

  15. Looks like some one's dad had put on a new coat of paint.

    Has it snow yet?

May I tell you my first snow experience? I thought some one had put white little pellets of fertiliser on the base of the trees.

  16. This sled is nice! Instead of the aerodynamic lie-down pose, the rider can look and feel a bit more dignified sitting up, arms resting quite nicely. The kids would not like this sled though...

  17. If I had that sled I might even learn to like snow.

  20. Oh, I have a sled like that in my garage! We tried it once in one of our mild NJ snows. The plastic new-fangled thingies worked better. Sigh.

  21. Catching up on your shots. I love the little antique sled. It is so sweet.

That bird on the M is too funny! You know he is just waiting to swoop down and get something greasy.

  22. I love old antique sleds, and I can just imagine how much fun the kids used to have on this one.
It's snowing here, but only lightly covering the ground. Last year at this time we had 54" already.

  34. Great find! My old sled had a wooden steering bar but I still had to lie down. This would have been very ladylike.

  35. The old-fashioned sled must have carried a lot of people on fun rides. I'll pass, though. ;-)

    Nice find, EG!

I'm not ready for any snow, either.

    Happy Ruby Tuesday ~
