Seen outside an antiques and collectibles store, this sled is ready for snow, but I'm not...not quite yet. The Greater Toronto Area is breaking a record held since
Seeing red? Why not join in the Ruby Tuesday fun, by visiting MaryT at http://workofthepoet.blogspot.com/
Nice red runners on that sled, and it looks like there is another sled by its side. Good shot!
ReplyDeleteWow my first time to see that kind of sled. Same here in MI I guess we are neighbors we don't have snow this November too I am not ready for snow yet do you? Great pic it is for sure an antique.
ReplyDeleteMine is here:Christmas Tree 2009
It's been very warm here, EG! Yesterday it 50 degrees F and beautifully sunny! I love it! I love your RT shot! Thanks for participating! :)
ReplyDeleteWow, what memories. I had a sled like that once upon a time and long, long ago.
ReplyDeletewhat a wonderful collectible--I'd love to have that.
ReplyDeleteWhat a wonderful vintage sled! Love the ruby runners ;-)
ReplyDeleteHugs and blessings,

ReplyDeleteIts lovely to see it :-)
Very cooool ....
Have a wonderful day

Lots of rain here and the weather is not cold enough for snow. Your shot is once again quite stunning.
ReplyDeleteGreat shot and I love the red runners.
ReplyDeleteA rare example of an old sled standing next to its mother. The red runners, wow, how did they think of that?
ReplyDeleteFrom Felisol
That's an oldie, but goodie! I like the fact it's got a place to put your arms when you're careening down a hill!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful photo, EG!
We haven't had any snow here yet, either! ;-)
I love it. Keep breaking those records I say. I am not ready for snow but then again all we have gotten here since October is RAIN and more rain. It can get very depressing--so gray all the time. Not to mention cold and wet. I sound like I am whining--oops I am. But I am smiling---through my tears. Hahaha!!
ReplyDeleteLove that little sleigh. MB
Great photo. I had a sled like that when I was a child.
ReplyDeletebeautiful photo
ReplyDeleteit has both a vintage and modern feel to it
I'm hoping for no snow as well
or the snow that falls and then melts, that's good snow
Looks like some one's dad had put on a new coat of paint.
ReplyDeleteHas it snow yet?
May I tell you my first snow experience? I thought some one had put white little pellets of fertiliser on the base of the trees.
This sled is nice! Instead of the aerodynamic lie-down pose, the rider can look and feel a bit more dignified sitting up, arms resting quite nicely. The kids would not like this sled though...
ReplyDeleteIf I had that sled I might even learn to like snow.
ReplyDeleteDarla
how neat what a great shot to welcome the winter season with!
ReplyDeleteWhat a cute sled! And, the red runners...stunning! I really like this one!
ReplyDeleteOh, I have a sled like that in my garage! We tried it once in one of our mild NJ snows. The plastic new-fangled thingies worked better. Sigh.
ReplyDeleteCatching up on your shots. I love the little antique sled. It is so sweet.
ReplyDeleteThat bird on the M is too funny! You know he is just waiting to swoop down and get something greasy.
I love old antique sleds, and I can just imagine how much fun the kids used to have on this one.
ReplyDeleteIt's snowing here, but only lightly covering the ground. Last year at this time we had 54" already.

Awe shucks, EG... Thought you were going to show us alot of SNOW.... ha ha .... BUT---someone is ready for it... I would enjoy that sled!!!!
ReplyDeleteHugs,
Betsy
November is coming to an end, so the snow will be making an appearance soon?
ReplyDeleteWhat a great old sled. I saw something similar in VA last weekend and wanted so badly to bring it home...
ReplyDeleteMy RT
beautiful in a rustic way.
ReplyDeleteMarvelous shot of the sled. Well, seems the global warming is upon Canada. I remember the cold day in Boston, hope your good weather last.
ReplyDeleteSo beautiful old thing !! And was so useful in old days. The climate has changed so. We have so little snow here in Finland, onlu raining all the time :(
ReplyDeleteps. my cat is in my Ruby pic !!!!
Fantastic photo....and I'd love to have that for the holidays so I could use it in my decorating. LOL
ReplyDeleteHappy Tuesday....my Ruby entry is holiday--a continuation of one I did several weeks ago...it's finished now, and decorating our mantle!! come see HERE
That is very creative way of making a sled. Happy Ruby Tuesday.
ReplyDeleteI don't know how to manage it!Looks cool!
ReplyDeleteGreat shot!
Léia
Perfect for RT & for the season :)
ReplyDeletethat is one interesting sled! :) thanks for sharing!
ReplyDeleteu may view mine if u have time
Love it! I'm ready to sled side in to snow. happy RT
ReplyDeletelol, I think you are missing a piece. The horse can't pull it without it. I think it's funny!
ReplyDeleteGreat find! My old sled had a wooden steering bar but I still had to lie down. This would have been very ladylike.
ReplyDeleteThe old-fashioned sled must have carried a lot of people on fun rides. I'll pass, though. ;-)
ReplyDeleteNice find, EG!
I'm not ready for any snow, either.
Happy Ruby Tuesday ~
I would love to own it, it's so much prettier than my old wooden one. Great shot.
ReplyDeleteCan I try it?
