Old Order Mennonite Buggy
This looks old but may not be THAT old. Old Order Mennonites still use this mode of transportation, called a "courting buggy" as there's room for only two people. This one is an ornament placed in a side yard.

Looks like it need some tender loving care! Lovely monochromatic photo!
ReplyDeleteAnd it's a convertible, too. Very sporty!
ReplyDeleteIt lends itself well to sepia. I would like to have one of those for my yard. I have just the place too. MB
ReplyDeleteIt's a cute buggy, I can imagine it full of flowers and with a beautiful couple taking a stroll at afternoon in Spring...
ReplyDeleteAdorable shot!

Lovely buggy an it does maka a very nice sepia picture.
ReplyDeleteSo pretty, a postcard picture for sure. Did we get snow here before you did?!!
ReplyDeleteHow sentimental. An ornamental momento perhaps of the couple who now resides in the house.
ReplyDeleteI thought I was going to see bugs--this was a nice surprise. If you want to wander down my road I’m home.
ReplyDeleteoh, a great find! makes a great photo!
ReplyDeleteWhat a wonderful view of an ancient transportation device. No more than two? What about the horse pulling the couple - he can hear everything!
ReplyDeleteVery nice ornament! ;-) If I had this, I'd get myself a horse.
ReplyDeleteReminds me of the song, "Froggy went a courting, I don't know why.. :)

I love that they left it with the wheels turned. :)
ReplyDeleteNice find.
Lovely. I can hear the horses...klipity klop klipity klop...
ReplyDeleteI love this old buggy and the simpler lifestyle it evokes.
ReplyDeleteCool shot for sepia! I like that it's only for two.
What a wonderful sepia picture. The buggy makes a wonderful lawn ornament.
ReplyDeleteFor some reason I really like old buggies...can't figure out why. Maybe it's because they're so photogenic...
ReplyDeleteNot sure I'd want one rotting away in my yard, though.
Another excellent photo -- the processing is perfect with sharp light and dark tones...
It would be a cold ride today! You'd need a soap stone for your feet.
ReplyDeleteLove those old buggies.

I really like this...and I would like to take a ride in one. I have ridden on a regular horse drawn wagon as a kid so it is probably similar.
