As you can plainly see, seniors are dangerous people
You must watch for them! They could come at you with their canes. In fact, maybe one took a whack at the top of this sign. OUCH!
I hope I'm not offending anyone, but this sign made me chuckle when I first saw it and took this photo. And then I chuckled again when I saw it as I was going through my archives.

Yes, senior people can be very dangerous, but mostly verbally. I wonder what they want motorists to do about it. Funny.
ReplyDeleteIt's probably a neighborhood where lots of seniors live. The sign being that shape didn't have the room to write pedestrians. I don't find it funny. Lots of people need this reminder.

ReplyDeleteI've seen deer crossings, moose crossings, snowmobile crossing, bike crossings .... but never "senior crossings!" I'll have to tell my buddy Jacob of Ocala about that one!

Being close to the age at which someone might deign to call me a "senior," I find this not offensive, but insufficient.
ReplyDelete"Watch for seniors"? Why? To make sure they get out in the road where you can run them over?
To laugh at their miserable attempts to navigate icy streets?
So you can beat them to the "early bird" specials at the restaurants?
I mean, really!
I think everyone definitely ought to watch for seniors - in order to lend a helping hand, or to give them some extra cash, or even a golf cart if necessary!
Now the problem of seniors getting clobbered is much worse in Minneesota. I'm sure you understand. I mean Hagen from Eagan lives there. That should explain lots of stuff.
It's so cold in Minneesota that most seniors don't dare go outside from Sept. 1 to June 1. That means they're hard to catch. So, in Eagan, for example, "they" set out hot cherry pies on tree stumps when the temperature gets to zero (F) and when a senior is tempted to come out of his/her dwelling to get the pie, "they" jump out from behind a tree and scare the poor senior to death.
And that's why you see so few seniors in Eagan.
Well, except for Hagen. He doesn't look all that old, but it's no wonder after all the facelifts he's had!
Seems to me that our senior CDP blogger has A LOT of experience commenting on blogs, in fact a longggg history of it! He sure does like to pontificate, non? I think he was having a senior moment during his comment but what do I know at my "junior age?" But I do love Seniors after all since I do sell a lot of Medicare supplements to Seniors and Seniors need health insurance, too! I don't go to "old country buffet" to I don't know about tempting Seniors with cherry pie! We do tease and pick on the Seniors that we like even the Seniors from Florida. Hug ya' Jacob the Senior

Rumor has it that in Ocala, Florida, they have signs posted showing the outline of Jacob in a golf cart warning "Watch for Jacob".
ReplyDeleteHe is rumored to be notorious for driving the golf cart erratically.
«Louis» knows those rumors are true because he started them himself.
I've never seen such a sign, but I know of some areas here in Southern California where it SHOULD be posted for sure!

In here I must say that old men who still drive car in age 75-80 are dangerours ! They don't react so quick anymore and don't notice what happens so quickly. And traffic is fast nowadays. Some people have Alzheimer and they still drive familiar roads. We have signs drive slowly children paly here but no signs about old people :) I think people are so used to speed limits that this kind of sign is VERY USEFULL to remain people to drive slowly here !!! Very nice pic !
