I love the look of this old Volvo, a 544 I believe. The style is classic, the new Volvos good looking in a modern way, but not a timeless look like this. Sepia is a fine enhancement for surface rust, taking the imperfection and making it beautiful. A lovely tok of the past in sepia!
Looks like my Dad's old car. . . but then maybe not as he did not have a Volvo but a Chevy. (Not a 59 Chevy -- I know what that car looks like -- in ct the only one I can really recognize. lol
I also left a comment on two below this one -- I guess the blog updater isn't working again and I got behind.
Uh, oh! I had a car just like that...a 1960 Volvo. But at the time we lived in Phoenix and it ran hot constantly! Finally sold it. But it was cute...bright red!
We also had a 1958 Volvo when living in Minneapolis...It was a lemon.
You found a terrific subject for sepia. It is sad it was neglected. I watch restored car auctions on TV with my Hubs - if only they had saved the body. :) Round The Bend.
A 544 Volvo! Does that ever bring back memories! I had a mint green one back in 1967! I loved that car. I bought it brand new for $2000.00 Can you believe it. Thanks for sharing. B.
I'm shocked that someone hasn't snapped that old car up --and make it look brand new. There are people who do that!!!!! I think I've seen this car---or a similar one!!!! (Shows my age, doesn't it???? ha) Hugs, Betsy
hee hee «Louis» once had a Volvo mechanic who kept up «Louis's» Volvo. The mechanic had one of these in white, but it had black primer spots all over it. «Louis» nicknamed the mechanic's Volvo 'the Dalmatian'.
