Kitchikewana/ My World

A statue of the Oendat god Kitchikewana in Penetanguishene, Ontario

According to Oendat (Huron) legend,  Kitchikewana - in a fit of rage in reaction to being spurned by the woman he loved - created five of the bays on the southern shore of Georgian Bay, which he gouged out with his enormous fingers. The rocks and earth he scooped out he tossed into Georgian Bay, creating 30,000 islands.

    I guess Oendat is the English for the French Canadian Wendat. It's a very nice sculpture and Native American legends are always nice.
