This tree is sure to be cut down soon - it's standing smack dab in the middle of what will soon be a housing development. Horses used to roam this property, and the residents of the now ramshackle home behind where I was standing must have seen many beautiful sunsets when they lived there.

Glad you are capturing some last shots before the land is built over.

a very beautiful sky
ReplyDeleteWow, what a stunning shot. It would be beautiful on my wall.:)
ReplyDeleteBeautiful! Maybe they will build around the tree and make it a central focus point?
ReplyDeleteAlways so sad to see beautiful land turned into cement and houses. I suppose we are calling this progress. How is the housing market there? MB
ReplyDeleteLoved the corduroy yesterday.
ReplyDeleteI'm invariably sad when we encroach on Nature. It may not be as blatant in the vast North American expanses as it is in cramped Europe but still...
MB,
ReplyDeleteApparently house prices went down slightly for a while but are now going up again. The Canadian economy was not hit as badly by the recession as the U.S. was.
So sad. I am glad that you were able to enjoy and share this beautiful sky with us.
ReplyDeleteThe best sunset would be this one.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful shot.

It's a pity that this tree has to be cut down. I hope that they would build around it instead.
ReplyDeleteHappy Easter.
An artist's imagination! Brilliant colors! Lovely shot!
ReplyDeletePixellicious Photos
What a shame to think that wonderful view will soon be obscured by houses.
ReplyDeleteThat's a gorgeous sunset and I love the bare tree. Such a shame that it will be cut down for development but will live on in your photographs.
ReplyDeleteIt doesn't get any prettier! A masterpiece.
ReplyDeleteWow, what a colorful sky.
ReplyDeleteOh, I'm so glad you caught this before it is built up and over!!! Such gorgeous, rich colors! Picture perfect it is indeed! Wishing you a very Happy Easter Weekend!
ReplyDeleteSylvia
Your sunset photos is splendid but its sad to see so much land lost to over development.
ReplyDeleteLove your fiery sky!.... they can't build over that!...:)
ReplyDeleteBeautiful colors of that sky!
ReplyDeleteWish you a Happy Easter
A beautiful sunset. Poor tree! Maybe if interest rates go really high, no one will be able to afford those houses and the tree can stay - silly me. Of course that won't happen.
ReplyDeleteStunning!
ReplyDeleteHave a wonderful weekend and Happy Easter!
Such a shame that you're going to lose this view! That ain't what I call "progress"!
ReplyDeleteI don't think I'm going to see a better photo than this one. Extraordinary!
ReplyDeleteWhat a shame, it seems to belong just where it is. Your photo is lovely, beautiful color and a nicely balanced scene. I can feel the warmth of the setting sun.
ReplyDeleteGorgeous sunset! Hopefully a new homeowner will have this evening show to enjoy.
ReplyDeleteI'm sorry to hear that this beautiful tree is about to be cut down. I imagine that soon there will be so many buildings that the sunset will be blocked. What a shame.
ReplyDeleteLovely. Have a great holiday.
ReplyDeleteBlazing skies! I'd sit there watching till the sun goes to sleep! Picture postcard shot!
ReplyDeleteGreat to have something to remember you by!
ReplyDeleteGood shot.
In New Zealand, if a tree is more than 6 meters tall, you can't cut it. The developer will just have to build around it.
ReplyDeleteand they just keep on building and building.........
ReplyDeleteGreat shot though, shame they have to cut the tree down.

This is a stunning photo...it could not be any better.
ReplyDeleteThat view is absolutely gorgeous and it's scandalous to think that anyone would want to build over it...
ReplyDeletethat's a breath taking sunset! i hope they would preserve the tree. such a shame not too see beautiful sunsets like this in the near future.
ReplyDeleteA gorgeous shot, EG! :) Have a wonderful holiday weekend! :)
ReplyDeleteWhat a beautiful sky! Love the image so much.
