Looking Back To March/ Sky Watch

This tree is  sure to be cut down soon - it's standing smack dab in the middle of what will soon be a housing development. Horses used to roam this property, and the residents of the now ramshackle home behind where I was standing must have seen many beautiful sunsets when they lived there.

    Always so sad to see beautiful land turned into cement and houses. I suppose we are calling this progress. How is the housing market there? MB

    Loved the corduroy yesterday.
    I'm invariably sad when we encroach on Nature. It may not be as blatant in the vast North American expanses as it is in cramped Europe but still...

    Apparently house prices went down slightly for a while but are now going up again. The Canadian economy was not hit as badly by the recession as the U.S. was.

    It's a pity that this tree has to be cut down. I hope that they would build around it instead.

    A beautiful sunset. Poor tree! Maybe if interest rates go really high, no one will be able to afford those houses and the tree can stay - silly me. Of course that won't happen.

    I'm sorry to hear that this beautiful tree is about to be cut down. I imagine that soon there will be so many buildings that the sunset will be blocked. What a shame.

    In New Zealand, if a tree is more than 6 meters tall, you can't cut it. The developer will just have to build around it.
