Sweet Violet (botanical name: viola odorata)
This photo is from my archives as sweet violets won't be blooming in my lawn for at least another week or two. I am looking forward to seeing these cheerful woodland perennials.

Gorgeous. Nothing like a beautiful flower to brighten your day.
ReplyDeleteNow I'm singing "Sweet Violets," and will probably have that in my head for the next week! Thanks a lot! ;-)
ReplyDeletePretty shot. And re your comment on Ocala DP - Spring has spring, but it will be awhile before this tree sprouts as it was pruned rather severely. But it has to be done as anything you plant here, from the smallest flower, will grow into a tree in a matter of weeks once it is rooted. Well, I'm exaggerating. But not by much!
I love Sweet Violets. Mine are just barely blooming--well just startin anyway. I saw this blog where the lady made Sweet Violet Jelly. It really is pretty. Here are a couple links :

ReplyDeleteGreat shot!
That's a delightfully warm and beautiful photo.
ReplyDeleteViolets are definitely sweet and pretty! The ones in my garden are just showing leaves so we will be waiting a while too.
ReplyDeleteNice photo! This from someone who too often finds violets turning blue in hers... ;S
ReplyDeleteThis is definitely a sweet picture. I hope you soon have these in bloom in your yard again.
ReplyDeleteSuch sweet and shy flowers! Here's hoping no late frosts return ...
ReplyDeleteDefinitely s spring treasure! Your photo is excellent!
ReplyDeleteWhat a sharp photo! They sure are pretty, aren't they?
ReplyDeleteSWEET capture, the light and color are lovely.
ReplyDeleteLove the bluish-purplish hue. Happy Easter. I love the way you went with this theme.

Interesting. Violets don't grow here, bougainvillea doesn't grow there. Isn't it nice to share what we have with others who have something different! I brought violets to Arizona from my mother's place in Texas when I first moved here because I do love them so, but, alas, it was not meant to be!
ReplyDeleteI bet you can't wait!
ReplyDeleteIsn't spring just wonderful? :)
ReplyDeleteHere's my Sweet post!
Nice shot
ReplyDeleteThose are gorgeous and they are perennial. Happy Easter!

Those are sweet flowers. I especially enjoy visiting the more "photographically" oriented blogs like yours. Nice take on the theme and some nice pics throughout.
ReplyDeleteLovely photo . . . and we're of similar minds re: this week's theme.
ReplyDeleteMy roses are budding, but won't bloom for weeks yet.
