Wildflowers in my garden
I was just bemoaning the fact that so many bloggers have fresh photos of flowers in their gardens and I...
But wait! My white hepatica popped through the soil, almost like magic!
Did you know hepatica have secret powers? According to legend, a girl can win the heart of any boy she chooses by making a powder from the leaves and sprinkling it over the chosen one's clothing. (Or maybe not. )
If you love flowers -- and who doesn't - check out Today's Flowers at http://flowersfromtoday.blogspot.com/
Just popped up, you say? Coincidence? And then you tell us tales about special "powder power." Hmmm. Strange things are happening up their in EG land.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful flowers, though!
Hope you have a wonderful week!
still nothing flowering in my garden? You're a lucky one.....Happy Easter.

May your day bloom as bright and lovely as your photo of these beautiful blooms.
ReplyDeleteHepatica in your garden?? How lovely! I've only seen it in the forest. It's one of my favorite spring ephemeral flowers. I blogged a little bit about it in my Jan. 14 post about 'ant farming'. Hope you are having a lovely Easter weekend. Hasn't the weather been great? ~karen

A flower I'm not familiar with. The bud must look like a brown pod before it opens. It's really striking and your pictures are excellent!
ReplyDeleteI still don't have anything blooming yet...Hopefully in a few days tho. Beautiful!
ReplyDeleteGorgeous photos! We do not have white Hepatica here where I live, but I have red ones in the woodland. I really miss the white one!

ReplyDeleteHow nice to have such beautiful blooms in your garden.
ReplyDeleteI once smuggled some of these across the boarder from my parents' farm in Keene. There were white ones for sure but also pinkish or bluish. I cannot remember as they only bloomed for a few years and then expired. I was so sad. You must be expecting marsh marigolds very soon as well. Happy spring.
