Branch of quince blossoms
This is not the edible quince, though I have heard the fruit from this plant can be made into delicious jellies.

It's a lovely flower, such a vibrant red which is one of my favorite colors. I've heard of that kind of jelly but never tried it. Thanks for sharing and have a great Sunday!
ReplyDeleteI was just about to inquire about the jelly.
ReplyDeleteLovely flowers indeed! You are lucky to have a neighbor with them!
ReplyDeleteThe color, (or colour for us Canadians,) is phenomenal!
ReplyDeleteNow I know what they are called. I have seen these this spring and wondered. Beautiful shots.
ReplyDeleteVery pretty. We went to a restaurant once in Deland, Florida, which served edible flowers. I wonder if one of them was the edible quince.
ReplyDeleteHope you have a great week!
Great pictures of flowering Quince with beautiful colours. I use Quince (Cydonia oblonga) for jelly.

The quince is so beautiful and that's great that your neighbor has a tall hedge of it for you to enjoy.
ReplyDeleteQuince flowers are so striking and the fruits are pretty too though we never have enough to do anything with them. A 5' hedge - gorgeous!

ReplyDeleteThe Quince are starting to bloom here too. I have made Quince jelly too. I once gave one of my daughter's boyfriend a Quince and told him it was an apple. I think he is still all puckered up. I thought it was funny. He didn't come back very often. Good!! BTW: excellent pic.
