Iris Versicolor/ Water Wednesday

Blue flag iris growing on the edge of  Canal Lake, Ontario

Wild iris  (the Province of Quebec's flower) grows in shallow water and bloom here in early June. Here my camera captured a clump at its peak bloom.

    I do love a patch of flowers like these. There are a row of yellow iris growing in a ditch down the road. I do love the purplely blue ones though. Super reflection. MB

    Oh my gosh that's just beautiful! I've seen wild iris before, but never such a large patch of them. No wonder it's the Province's flower! Your photos are stunning -- I went to your other blog as well.

    Re your comment on Stone Creek: Yes, our Ibises do exactly what pigeons and geese do in Canada! They do doo doo.

    Found out today that an alligator has been spied on our golf course. The first one! Exciting!

    You have had very beautiful scenery, which you have captured so well.
    Wild Irish is very special here, not common and usually yellow.

    The first thing that came to mind when viewing these excellent shots was Monet. They look like Monet paintings. The reflection is gorgeous.
