Recreation of 'Autumn Garland' by Tom Thompson
Huntsville, Ontario celebrates eight well-known (to Canadians, eh) artists. Walking Huntsville's main streets, it's impossible to miss recreations of art painted by the Group of Seven and Tom Thompson, Canadian Impressionists.
More Group of Seven art can be seen HERE.

ReplyDeleteI keep telling myself that one of these days I am going to try painting...my daughter says she has stuff she could give me. But then I tell myself, "Self, you don't need another hobby," and I leave it at that...still.....
ReplyDeleteThat's awesome, and it's wonderful that they don't get vandalized like in too many cities.
ReplyDeleteRoad trip! Very cool.
ReplyDeleteI appreciate people who can paint. How clever.
ReplyDeleteHave you heard of the song, Something like proud to be Canadian. Got it from another Canadian Blogger. I think that is also very clever.
Amazing art works, all displayed out. I am worried, won't they deteriorate?
ReplyDeleteWow, attractive public art. That's a rarity. You're lucky.
ReplyDeleteThese are beautiful. What a wonderful way to display art.

ReplyDeleteAre those paintings created on canvas or other material, that is weatherproof?
ReplyDeleteThanks for your visit. Yes the Nazis destroyed Rotterdam on 14 May 1940, without any warning. When we returned from Indonesia( then Dutch East Indies) in January 1946, the town was one ruine and my mum, who was born and bred in Rotterdam didn't recognize anything of it. I shall add some photos to my post.
I have always loved the world-class fine art by the Group of Seven. It's a pity they are not better known by non-Canadians... and perhaps younger Canadians too. So using these beautiful reproductions as urban art is simply brilliant.
ReplyDeleteGreat idea. Thanks for sharing.
ReplyDeleteLove the art...so colorful & cheerful : )
ReplyDeleteOh Wow! I love this. What a great idea.
ReplyDeleteI can see I'll have to visit Huntsville to see these pieces of art. It's especially more attractive now that all those world leaders have gone home.
ReplyDeleteVery nice love outdoor art and love the scenery of Canada
ReplyDeleteI adore outdoor art -- my kind of gallery. Those are so colorful. And actually, I'd like to see the originals sometime too.
ReplyDeleteI love outdoor art as many people see it who wouldn't go to an art gallery.
ReplyDeleteWhat a wonderful way to share art. We have a small town in Washington called La Conner that has sculptures everywhere to enjoy. It's so much fun to stroll around town to see them all. - Margy
ReplyDeleteI like this art. Colorful and strong.
ReplyDeleteTaking the art out of the galleries to the people is always a good thing and such wonderful works to boot.
