A/ Alphabe-Thursday

ANCHOR and wave wind vane at a yacht club on Lake Ontario

Typically ANCHORS have broad hook-like arms that when dropped by chains, cables of ropes into a body of water bury themselves in the bottom providing a firm hold.

But in these photos you see three ways ANCHORS can also be used as an attractive motif.

  5. Anchors have always had a certain appeal to me, I don't know why. I don't live near water - don't own a boat and don't aspire to do either...but a well positioned anchor in art, furniture, clothing etc...has always made me smile!

Anchors are extra special in my little brother's life...he is active duty Navy, so at his wedding, the had a beautiful ice sculpture of an anchor that was part of the receptions decor and for a wedding gift, I created a framed art piece using their names in an anchor.

    Blessings & Aloha!
