Two swans preparing to...er...sing?
(Note: The third swan swan is in the background, not believing what he/she is about to witness!)
Anyone remember the song about sisters sung by Bette Midler and Linda Ronstadt?
Sisters, sisters
There never were such devoted sisters,
Never had to have a chaperone, No Sir,
I'm here to keep an eye on her
Caring, sharing
Every little thing that we are wearing
When a certain gentleman cob arrived from Rome
She wore the dress, and I stayed at home
All kinds of weather, we stick together
The same in the rain and sun
Two different faces, but in tight places
We think and we act as one
Those who have seen us
Know that not a thing could come between us
Many men cobs have tried to split us up, but no one can
Lord help the mister who comes between me and my sister
And Lord help the sister, who comes between me and my man cob

oh, sister, watch your back!
ReplyDeleteWhat a pose. Great shot!
ReplyDeleteGreat shot and song reference although you are obviously very young. The "Sisters" song is from the movie "White Christmas" and was done by Rosemary Clooney and Vera-Ellen in 1954 (before we were born too).
ReplyDeleteDarryl and Ruth : )
Such beautiful creatures! Lovely photo!
ReplyDeleteSo why do I feel like I'm at the ballet? :-)
ReplyDeleteI love the 'sister' idea. I do remember the song after reading through it. I think this is just an old-fashioned gab fest though. MB
ReplyDeleteThey certainly struck a perfect pose for you.
ReplyDeletelol! Love it!
ReplyDeleteAnd the third is the audience! Yes, of course I remember the song.
ReplyDeleteWonderful shot. Did you stay for the chorus?
ReplyDeleteLovely shot - I do remember that song!

One of your most interesting photos...you really caught them in a great pose! The song I don't know. I do know, however, that many sisters do not get along too well so the song may be somewhat wishful thinking! :-)
ReplyDeleteMaybe it will be their 'Swan song'......
ReplyDeleteLove the shot! I remember the song from White Christmas too. Great movie.
ReplyDeleteAll I could think of was the Swan Lake ballet. I liked the song tho.
ReplyDeleteDarla
What a graceful trio!
ReplyDeleteGorgeous shot ! these swans are so elegant !
ReplyDeleteIt's been a long time since I've thought about that song.
ReplyDeleteThanks for the memories and for the great picture.
Jacob is wrong, at least in my case; my sister and I are very different, and don't act as one, but we get along great! :-D I'm a Bette Midler fan, so I had to go find the song and am listening now... fun song, don't think I've heard it before, though! And this is a fabulous shot of these swans... about to break into song... :-D
ReplyDeleteReady to sing and posing for the paparazzi!
ReplyDeleteCute shot!
Carletta's Captures
I love that song!!
ReplyDeletedo you remember it from the old movie? I think Bing Crosby was also in the movie
oh now I'll have to go Googling ;)
love the sisters, they're beautiful
The sisters have great preening style. Love the song with slight alterations!
ReplyDeleteLovely photograph! Perfect shot for Camera Critters!
ReplyDeleteThanks for your recent comment. Photography has taught me so much about birds. Before photography I would see birds on the water without knowing what they were but when I began photographing them then I had to know what they were. Not only that but having an image made Id easy as I could have the shot up on the screen while flipping through ref guides.
I love them! Love the movie/song, too!
ReplyDeleteHere my entry

EG Wow,
ReplyDeleteWhat an interesting photo. They seem to hold a pose for you. In Nara, sometimes a deer takes a pose for temporally cameramans - visitors, but always alone, not like this. Very precious and rare photo!! I love this.
Have a great weekend.
Wonderful! I love how you've captured the heads of 3 swans in the photo. It makes such a pretty sight with the curve of their lovely, long necks.
ReplyDeleteGreat capture. Boom & Gary of the Vermilon River, Canada.
ReplyDeleteWonderful shot! :-)
