Spring Geese/ SOOC

Canada geese enjoying a swim on the river

Here the geese look serene and relaxed but actually they were resting after many sessions of honking and welcoming other geese as they flew in to join them. It was a joyous honking. Geese are very sociable creatures!

  3. they must be just like black-bellied whistling ducks in that way - lots of whistling, chiding, welcoming when new ones show up!

  7. Are you near to Kingsville.

It was Christmas 1975, my room mate's dad took me to a lake and see a zillion geese. I never forget this.

  8. I love the strip of red in the background, on the shore. The geese seem oblivious to any scenery; they are just enjoying the swim and each other's company.

  11. they sure can be noisy. the pair at the pond get very upset if another pair try to horn in on their privacy. No babies this year for some reason. MB

  13. The year wouldn't be the same without the Canada Geese dropping in for a honk. Nice pic.
