Little Lake/ Scenic Sunday

Clouds over Little Lake, Midland, Ontario

I suspect Little Lake is named for someone whose surname was Little. As Kathy mentioned in her comment, it's not a little lake. :)

  6. Beautiful shot, EG. Great idea to have the tree in the shot.
We have a Big Lake here, right through the woods. When Kylee was little she thought it should be called Long Lake instead. and she is right. haha! MB

  11. Would you say it is "little" compared with, say, Lake Superior or Lake Michigan, or Lake Erie?

Just kidding. If you want to see little lakes, come to Florida - we have thousands of them in the central part of the state.

  15. Great shot! That tree gives the picture wonderful depth, and I love the colors!
My macro flowers are some kind of anemones, called hvitveis in norwegian. Hvit = white.
The mellow yellow is a boathouse by a fjord. Not one of the famous fjords; our area is criss-crossed with small fjords and inlets.
The blue boat is probably a fishing boat, and he probably hasn't caught anything yet, or the air around him would have been filled with seagulls waiting for him to start cleaning the fish :-)

  16. I'd like to spend the day there. Very scenic, and calm water always exudes peace.
