South-central Ontario this week
Like most of eastern North America, the weather here has been sizzling hot. I hope the colours in this mosaic convey that message.
In the largest square you can see this bee is delighted with the pollen it found on this wild mustard (Sinapsis arvensis). Moving clockwise: a cultivated daylily (Hemerocallis) in my garden, ant on bull thistle (Cirsium vulgare), red honeysucle berries (Loncera ssp), butternuts (Juglans cineria) and wild perennial sweet peas (Lathyrus latifolius).

Please note that I include the botanical names because they remain the same around the world but the common names vary.
Please visit Michelle at Rambling Woods for more NATURE NOTES.
I so enjoy your Nature Notes montages. Today's is no exception. Stay cool and drink lots of lemonade, EG! Here we have a tropical storm in its third day and it makes our house move slightly inconvenient.
ReplyDeleteYour nature notes are so cute!
ReplyDeleteHave a nice day

What a great close-up on that bee! I always love your nature/flower shots. This mosaic is really nice. :)
ReplyDeleteThe ant on the thistle is my favorite of this set. There is something about a blooming thistle that makes me happy.

ReplyDeleteI see so many colors
ReplyDeleteFlora beautiful
Peach and red and yellow
Even glorious purple
And there upon the petal
I see a busy bee
Reminding me I've got to run
Someone's calling me!
"Coming dear! Bye."

ReplyDeleteYes, summer is in full bloom in your area and in your photos. Very pretty!
ReplyDeleteI always like your collages! Wonderful shots up close! Hope the heat cools down a little :D
ReplyDeleteThe bee photo made me laugh, look at that grin :D Do the butternuts taste similar to "normal" walnuts?
ReplyDeleteEverything looks very healthy in spit of the heat. Beautiful shots.
ReplyDeleteLove the scenes and the colors!
ReplyDeleteI never knew sweet peas grew wild---sweet pea is my favourite flower (of the minute)
