Pearl Crescent butterfly resting on a leaf
Last week the forest was alive with butterflies. I wish I'd had my longer zoom lens with me but I walk in the forest with my lighter lens so the photo is not quite as clear as I would like. The good news is that you can at least see what a pearl crescent looks like.

Yes, that's a lovely image. The colors of the insect and the leaves blend so beautifully.

ReplyDeleteIt is tough lugging the big stuff around..I really like this little camera I bought. I always have it with me...haven't seen one of these guys yet...
ReplyDeleteThat is a great capture. Love the detail and the colours!
ReplyDeleteVery beautiful shot! How do you shot a butterfly without them flying away from you? I tried taking photo with butterflies or dragonflies but they are so quick a little movement or sound they are gone. ^_^

You never fail to amazed me with your gorgeous photos!
ReplyDeleteWe both have butterflys. I understand the problem of lenses, even with two cameras I often want a different lens.

ReplyDeleteI am trying to start a meme, or meetingplace, for our small, winged friends. Maybe you would like to check it out? Next one is on Thursday evening. I´d like it to be international.

ReplyDeleteGorgeous colors and light in this image EG!!
ReplyDeleteSo soft and delicate. I hear what you mean about the long lens. I really thought that's what I wanted to do with photography. Now I'm about ready to go with a more powerful point-and-shoot because after being out about an hour with a camera and two lenses my neck, back and everything else is just killing me!
ReplyDeleteWhat a beautiful flutter! Love the striped antennas :)
