Hollyhock/ Macro Monday

 Hollyhock blossom close up

A few hollyhocks are still blooming in my gardens. Here's what two of the blossoms look like close up.

  1. These photos, while beautiful, remind me of how conflicted I was when I saw "Tree of Life", during which animated versions of hollyhocks or somethiing similar danced for what seemed like hours.

  2. I love hollyhocks! I'm determined to plant them again, although 40 years ago I tried to get rid of some and it was a daunting task. I figure now I'm old enough that by the time they need to be dug up I'll be long gone and someone else will have to worry about it!

  3. I love the last shot with all the pollen on it. Of course, it would make me sneeze, but it's a great capture.

  5. Breathtaking close-ups of red hollyhocks! The first looks jucy purplish red while the second looks luminous mellow red.

  10. I planted some hollyhocks, but I don't think they'll bloom this year. Hopefully next year I'll get their bright color!
