Getting away from it all
It was mid morning and I was photographing wildflowers growing on a ledge over Lake Ontario when seemingly out of nowhere this woman in her kayak quietly appeared.
I am linking to Watery Wednesday where you can find many more watery photos.
Photography is so very interesting. You never know when a shot is going to present itself. I really like this photo but I also find the subject matter intriguing too with all of the camo.

That is just lovely. That reflection, the same as the weather, can't be easily planned. Great image.
ReplyDeleteSuch a wonderful picture!
ReplyDeleteHave a nice day

I would love to be that person right now! A very peaceful scene.
ReplyDeleteKayaking is fun and good exercise too! Your timing was perfect! We went canoeing on my parents' lake yesterday afternoon - 'twas heavenly!
ReplyDeleteThe blue of the water and the yellow of the paddles - perfection. Serenity.
ReplyDeleteOne of my swimming pool buddies was just yesterday talking about kayaking and how much fun it is.

This is a wonderful shot!
ReplyDeleteSo beautifully peaceful!
a lovely way to spend a sunny afternoon.
ReplyDeleteAnother of your wonderful water shots.
ReplyDeleteWhat happened to the wildflower pictures? Are they to come?
ReplyDeleteKayaking on the river Thames I can cope with, but being out on a huge lake like that, all by yourself and without a life jacket even, that is daring in my book.
Beautiful shot! That's what I like about kayaks, you can move along the water with hardly a sound.
ReplyDeleteSo glad I came by. Water photos are my favorite, especially as we are in the midst of a long drought. This is both beautiful and refreshing.
ReplyDeleteThat looks like my sister from the back. ;)
ReplyDeleteNeat photo op -- I'm glad you shared this with us.
that is a lovely shot. this is the kind of shots I wanted to take a lot of.
ReplyDeleteYour photo is great and the composition of it is brilliant!
ReplyDeleteThis is a wonderful Watery Wednesday photo with a great reflection.
ReplyDeleteA dream.
ReplyDeletePlease have a good Wednesday.

Beautiful sense of precious stillness in this delightful photo!
ReplyDeleteThe kayaker doesn't appear to be in much of a hurry!
ReplyDeleteFEEL THE WATERS’ HEALING
If you’re stressed and weary
Try a thing or two:
Go down to the river,
Take a friend with you;
Take your shoes and socks off,
Plunge in twenty toes—
Feel the waters’ healing
As the river flows!

She is brave enough to do Kayaking alone, I wish I have a fraction of her courage. ^_^

I hope my comment appears---it said it would but I don't see and I am not going to write everything all over again----I am sweaty and tired. Been out in the woods cleaning up around fairly newly planted Doug Fir trees. Too hot today. MB
ReplyDeleteGreat reflection shot. The yellow paddles really stand out.
ReplyDeleteShe looks a little lonely. Was there no one else nearby in a kayak?
ReplyDeleteNice colors here - esp. the yellow (and the reflections!) against the blue.
What a perfect shot, but I would love to be that lady in the kayak!

I love to float along quietly in a canoe or kayak. It's so peaceful, you have captured the tranquility that is only possible in a motorless boat. A great image.
ReplyDeleteVery nice! That's the life.
ReplyDeleteYes, a beautiful slice of life.
ReplyDeleteI would love to do this instead of going work.
ReplyDeleteLove kayaking ... wish it were me!
ReplyDeleteGreat shot. How nice...
ReplyDeletelovely watery pic!
ReplyDeletean excellent photo! yeah, it looks like she's really getting away from it all.:p
ReplyDeletebeautiful colors.
The thing about kayaking is that it so silent and unobtrusive...
ReplyDelete[I smiled at your humourous comment on my post... Fortunately Cavtat was our intended destination for the day, just not for four days. My mother has been there with three of her five children. For the record, there is not a devious bone in my body... I'm a Taurus. LOL!]
Lucky girl, I think she is enjoying the silence and the beautiful view. This picture says a lot!I like this calm feeling there :)thanks!

Looks like a relaxing place to be. Love the reflection you have captured here.
ReplyDeleteHow peaceful to be that woman out there on the lake, alone, surrounded by the beauty of nature.
ReplyDeleteLovely capture. Love the reflections too.
