Robin's NEST in maple tree
Today, three NESTS - all different.
The first NEST is is still up for grabs, awaiting the return of the American robins.
Osprey sitting on NEST in middle of marsh
The second and third photos were taken last year. Can you see the young'uns to the left of the parent? This is not a clear photo because the osprey nest was way into the marsh and I've cropped it so you can see the man-made stilts and the osprey-built nest.
Cormorant NESTS, condo-style
Now this is one HUGE extended family!
I am linking to Jenny Matlock at Alphabe-Thursday HERE
I love the condo-style one. I've only seen an Osprey nest once.
ReplyDeleteIt wont be long before the Robins reclaim the nest. It looks so neat compared to the Cormorant nests.
ReplyDeletelove that last rookery!
ReplyDeleteIt is interesting to see how the nests are built by different birds.
ReplyDeleteThese are neat nest photos. I think you did a great job with the Osprey nest. The condo is certainly a popular spot.

ReplyDeleteThis post made me smile. Nice selection of nests...but the condo cormorants get the prize!
ReplyDeleteNeat nests! I've only got some squirrel nests in my trees. Maybe some nicer birds will come in the summer. :)

ReplyDeleteThe lofted nest is amazing!
ReplyDeleteHi Tina
ReplyDeleteI like the condo style of the cormorants. We have ospreys nesting on our side of the lake too. However, when the GO train resumed running, the naturalists moved their twiggy platform further away from the rail line and built them a nice sturdy one. They seem to stress easily when people want to watch them.
