I've seen buildings like this, mostly in national parks and forests and the like. Never thought to them as "cobblestone houses" but it makes sense. Like those icicles.
Wow! What a wonderful find for the Theme Day. I have not seen anything like that over here. Maybe it was all that was to hand in the era when the house was constructed. Maybe they cleared the fields and wondered what on earth to do with all the rocks .. mmm .. let me think ... I know!
Good ones! I couldn't find a cobblestone, so I used something a bit different. I guess you'll see it tomorrow. :) I really like your choice though. I really love a stone facade on a house and it does look like cobblestones.
I really like this type of construction, used to see a lot of this in Montreal and along St. Lawrence in Quebec city, Riviere Du Loup, Cacouna. Is it still frozen where you are?
You still have the icicles? Did I tell u, when I was flatting in University, we had a clothes line across the balcony. Some of the boys hang their laundry over night, and the legs of the jeans have icicles,
Thanks for visiting my little corner of the world. I hope you enjoyed your stay here. Please leave a comment before you leave so I can visit your blog.

ReplyDeletei have driven and walked on cobblestone streets but not seen a wonderful beautiful home like this.
ReplyDeleteNice images for the theme!
ReplyDeleteNice, but hey this is March 31!!! It's an excellent take on the theme, mine will be far more classical and uninteresting!
ReplyDeleteLove that house! - we don't see that type of construction out here.

ReplyDeleteBeautiful. I have always only thought of cobblestones on roads. Now I have another way to see them!
ReplyDeleteYes, it was a lot of snow for the end of March, but it is gone now and we are gathering rain by the buckets.
Blessings!
Interesting building, like the effect of the icicles.
ReplyDeleteThis house is a beauty. I have seen houses faced with stone, but these cobbles are a bit different.
ReplyDeleteThat's a pretty rustic old house. I would have been hard-pressed to find anything in my daily life that had cobblestones!
ReplyDeleteSturdy and beautiful all in one.

ReplyDeleteOh, I like those cobblestones! Very nice!
ReplyDeleteGreat theme day shots. I forgot about it! I'm bad!
ReplyDeleteI think stone houses are my favorite of all...even above log cabins and I have always loved log cabins.
ReplyDeleteI really like this cobblestone house. It reminds me of some of the stone houses we have here on the Plateau.
ReplyDeleteThose icicles are amazing. We never have them in Melbourne, our winters are too mild so I am always fascinated by them.
ReplyDeleteWow! I love that old house!
