Red-tailed hawk (Buteo jamaicensis)
This hawk was sitting on a fence, fascinated by the cars on the busy highway or perhaps looking for a potential meal. Whatever! It wasn't very bothered by me and allowed me to get quite close to take this photo.
I am joining Stewart M's Wild Bird Wednesday HERE
SUPER!! I would LOVE to get that close to one!
ReplyDeleteAwesome pic. He's not afraid of you at all.
ReplyDeleteAmazing how he can quickly unwind his claws from all that metal of the fence for a fast getaway. Amazing that he allowed you to get so close. Amazing bird!
