A/Alphabe-Thursday

Azalea in my mother-in-law's yard

A is for AZALEA and ADOPTED

Hi, all. I'm back from a difficult few days in Upstate New York where my mother-in-law - a very lovely lady - just passed away.

You know all those bad jokes and stories about mothers-in-law? That wasn't my husband's mother the jokes were talking about. My mother-in-law treated me like one of her own kids. In fact, I was called the ADOPTED daughter.

While we were saying our last good-byes, this lovely azalea bloomed in her side yard.

I am linking to Jenny Matlock at Alphabe-Thursday HERE

  22. My condolences also. You were fortunate to have had a great relationship with your MIL. I did also, and when she died it was difficult for she was very much a "mom" to me.

It is nice, though, that you have this beautiful azalea photo to remind you of her love!

  28. I can soooo relate to this! My MIL was loving and giving. She once told me that I WAS a daughter to her, as much as the ones to whom she gave birth.

My yard is filled with azaleas right now. I even have some that bloom from spring until winter.

Thanks for your comment on my post. I just love being a gadfly!!

  29. Beautiful! :)

Sure I've heard abut that bad jokes, I never have understood them, really.. I've been wondering if men are worst to complain on their mothers-in-law?? I might be wrong. My man does not complain, he is proud of my mum.

    :))
