Tiger swallowtail on shrub
When I see butterflies I know late spring has finally arrived.
Actually it has been a tad too warm for the past two days, but the weather people are promising lower temperatures. Unfortunately we are also being promised rain. Ha! Is there such a thing as perfect weather in Ontario? What about where you live?
Beautiful Click. ! !

That's great! It's been a while since I had one to pose for me. :-)
ReplyDeleteSuch beautiful, delicate yet strong creatures. Humans are awed by them. This is a beauty!
ReplyDeleteSuch a gorgeous butterfly and photo! =)
ReplyDeleteyes, spring came late here too, and now it's full summer. we have most sunny days, but we've also had rain. It's hotter in middle and north of my country than south and where I live. something I can find a little odd..
have a lovely weekend! :)
Pretty capture of the Swallowtail! Happy Weekend!
ReplyDeleteOntario weather is as changeable as the political scandals that are happening each day!
ReplyDeleteHe is so pretty! What a perfect pose! We've had too much rain lately and it's too hot already, so, no, I'm never satisfied. Ha!
ReplyDeletewe are in the fifth year of drought in our county.. the ponds and lakes are down to almost nothing. others get so much rain they flood, and that is only 70 miles from us, which makes no sense... we have more butterflies each day, we are now up to 3 different types of swallowtails, the long wing zebra and orange gulf frieraty... i love it when they start to hover all over the yard.
ReplyDeleteThis is so beautiful!
ReplyDeleteIt sat still for you!
I haven't seen an swallowtails since returning home but did run into a few (not literally) while on the road. Looking at mid 90's this weekend in northern California.
ReplyDeletegorgeous!
ReplyDeleteThese are such beautiful butterflies. It's always a treat when they land and stay still so that I can get a few shots. The one I posted yesterday was trying to warm up in the morning sunshine.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful picture. perfect weather is determined by who you ask and what they want to do,so no,there is no perfect weather. Too much rain here, with lots of overland flooding.
ReplyDeleteVery pretty!
ReplyDeleteIt's a beauty!
ReplyDeleteI'm not enjoying the humidity and it certainly seems to be windier than normal this year!
Boy, you're never happy are you. First it's too cold then too dry and then too hot and pretty soon it will be too wet!
ReplyDeleteJust kidding! I've got the same problem here. We have had a chilly spring and now it's too darn hot! And too much rain!
Very beautiful shot of the flutterbye!
Since the Brit's favourite topic of conversation is the weather I guess we are happy whatever.
ReplyDeleteLovely butterfly.
So, so beautiful!
ReplyDeleteOh, let's not talk about London weather. It's been all too bad this year. Let's talk about butterflies. I love your photo. It's amazingly close up. Well done.
ReplyDeleteIn Indiana, just wait a few minutes and the weather will change. It is supposed to be cooler here. Have sure had our share of rain the past day or two.
ReplyDeleteLove the capture of the butterfly. I haven't been anywhere to see any...hoping when my coneflowers finally bloom that they attract some.
One of my Facebook friends just posted a photo of this same variety of swallowtail...on her lilacs. I haven't seen any butterflies yet...I don't really have anything to attract them right now, but the daisies and coneflowers will come later!
ReplyDeleteNew England weather has had extremes. Last weekend it was very cold and rainy, with a little bit of snow even in the highest parts of northwestern Connecticut. But the last two days have been in the 90s and approaching record levels. Next week is supposed to be nice, thought.
ReplyDeleteOh I love butterflies, this capture is awesome!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful Swallowtail. Love it. Weather here has been in the mid 90's for the past few days. We actually had a thunderstorm with heavy rain this evening. We needed it but now I'm sure the humidity will be horrible tomorrow and make the hot temps even more unbearable. Happy Sunday.

Beautiful. I know how hard it is to photography butterflies. They don't sit still much. You got a great shot.
ReplyDeleteI wish we had rain. As of Wednesday we have two rather large wildfires burning to the east and west of us.
ReplyDeleteLovely shot!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful shot!
ReplyDeletePerfection! I love seeing these butterflies, a wonderful harbinger of the late season indeed. We are promised more hot weather here, just a week ago it was cold! Insane.
ReplyDeleteGreat capture. I don't see enough of these around any more.
