Proud dad taking family photos
Two days ago, my husband and I took a road trip to Cobourg on the north side of Lake Ontario, always an interesting place to visit. Saturday was very, VERY busy there, full of photo ops. It appeared many people were eking out as much summer as possible. School starts here the day after Labour Day.
The above family found a small corner of beach to play and take photos and...
Alligator meets shark
these kids found a - for a few seconds - a place to splash and tease each other.
Crowded!
Most of the beach looked like this.
Three boats anchored a bit further out in the water
A few clever boat owners found a way to swim and enjoy each other away from the crowds.
Breakwater outside the harbour
And three boys rode their bikes to the breakwater to play.

ReplyDeleteEnjoy last few days of summer.
Ah, yes, school. It won't be long now.
ReplyDeleteI love the alligator meets shark! Great examples of water fun!
ReplyDeleteOh I LOVE this my childhood floods back to images of this beach empty about 5 in the morning walking with y Grandfather. It is a lovely place to visit but surely is crowded this time of year. LOVE you shots makes me want to jump in the car:) Hug B
ReplyDeleteBeautiful world and captures!
ReplyDeleteWe are getting down to the last days of summer and people are doing what they can to get a few days in before school starts.
ReplyDeleteLovely to see the family enjoying summer time, your pictures are wonderful!

Now, isn't that the way humans do??? Crowding up like that . . always causes me to wonder -
ReplyDeleteThat first photo - of the "Proud Dad" looks like pure art - the kind that hangs in a gallery somewhere . . Awesome Stuff . . .
Definitely a busy place! The family photos will be treasured for a long time for that young family. Digital cameras certainly have transformed the whole photographic scene!
ReplyDeleteFun photos of a summer day. There is so much colour on the beach - love it! The photo of the boys on the breakwater is really nice.
ReplyDeleteLooks like everyone has headed to the beach, pretty much the same here at the moment. Way too many people!
ReplyDeleteA great day and a great place making summer memories. Terrific shots of people have fun! I remember those summer days in Minnesota. We thought they'd never end. Hah! The crowded beach reminds me a bit of the Ft. Lauderdale beach during spring break!
ReplyDeletei love the breakwater shot best of all.. wow on the crowds..standing room only.. that is a really good photo of the daddy taking photos.
ReplyDeleteLove the shots, so full of life and happiness.
ReplyDeleteOh, the umbrellas are fabulous! Looks like we are experiencing similar weather across the country. The same scenes are being played out on the West Coast. Everyone in my world seems to be squeezing out the last bits of what has been a beautiful summer.
ReplyDeletethe crowds would not be fun. love the colors, though.
ReplyDeleteYou got some wonderful candid shots. I'm glad people are still enjoying summer while they can. We had a cool weekend here.
ReplyDeleteThis remind me of our family going to the Florida beaches when the girls were little. This summer has been soggy and dreary here, raining almost daily, so it has not been that pleasant, but it has been quiet. The beaches you show are very crowded but kids have much fun anyway. I hope you had a great summer so far.
ReplyDeleteThat is a whole lot of people on that beach! I love the shot of the dad with a camera!
ReplyDeleteI couldn't find the comment section on your other blog. I haven't been around for a while; did something change?
ReplyDeleteI'm in love with your last shot! A perfect symbol for freedom, youth, summer and joy!Marvellous picture , really!
ReplyDeleteSchool has started here already:( And I can only imagine the beaches right now.....I'd be doing the same thing:)
ReplyDeleteLovely photos!
ReplyDeleteGreetings from, RW & SK
I had no idea that Cobourg was so popular!
ReplyDeleteKnow it well, but it`s too crowded now!! Boom & Gary of the Vermilon River, Canada.
ReplyDeletelove the first photo, precious.
ReplyDeletewow, it was crowded. perfect for people wathcing.
Oh, what fun, delightful captures, EG! I love seeing the kids enjoying themselves -- as well as the grown-ups! And beautiful water and skies! Just doesn't get any better! Thanks for sharing the end-of-summer fun!! Have a great week!
ReplyDeleteThese photos are pure summer! Very nice. I've gone to some "raft" parties where there 20-30 boats "rafted" together.
ReplyDeleteI doubt the children notice the crowds, they are just having too much fun.
ReplyDeleteFantastic shots of 'summer life' ~ lots of colors, great composition and creative! ~ thanks, carol, xo
ReplyDeleteIt is certainly a busy place, great shots!
ReplyDeleteThe beach does look crowded, I am glad they had good weather to enjoy the beach and boat rides. Great summertime photos.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful day! Very nice series of shots! I especially admire the last one.
ReplyDeleteWow! I've never seen it so crowded. Glad people are taking advantage of the nice weather. :)
ReplyDeleteI like your storytelling approach to today's series of photos, EG. Busy!
ReplyDeleteWow, that is one crowded beach. Love that last photograph.
ReplyDeleteGreat photos! Feels like summer today!
ReplyDeleteCobourg is a beautiful spot to visit. I've done a post previously about the Cobourg beach (less crowded than yours) and this week I did a post about Nessie's in the downtown. :)
ReplyDeleteLooks like folks were having fun. I particularly like that photo of the boys on the breakwater.
ReplyDeletesummer in your world looks great.
ReplyDeleteWhat fun photos! There is a beautiful peace at the beach like no place else.
ReplyDeleteI love the alligator and shark, but the photo of the crowd makes me happy just to be at home, looking at your photos and enjoying them without all the fuss and bother.
ReplyDeleteK
Goodness, that does look awfully crowded. School here started this week, so our summer is unofficially over.
