Field Sparrow

 Field Sparrow (Spizella pusilla)

This elusive little guy finally showed up yesterday where I could get a good photo of him/her. I had to stand very quiet for a long time but eventually he came back to this feeder to check out the goodies there

    Great pix. Rarely see one up close, but I hear them all summer. Isn't it the one whose call sounds like a Ping pong ball dropping?

    Wonderful shots. Can't really decide which one I like better. Each one has something going for them. The first one is nicely framed and the second one really, really cute :)

    I don't think I've ever seen any kind of sparrow that close up (a living one, that is.) Beautiful photos!

    Sweet bird and great shots. We have mostly Song and Fox at our feeders now. I have a hard time telling some of them apart. MB

    We get many of these birds on our bird feeders but I can never get as close you did. Your picture is so clear - I loved it.

    I read somewhere that sparrows -of all birds- were kind of at risk in Europe. I love them, they are so cute so I've really enjoyed these pics!
