American Robin

American robin

Yesterday, I took a scenic route home from the hospital. It was raining and there were puddles, but I didn't see any worms where this robin was searching for supper.  It was foraging in the middle of a country gravel road. Sounds scary to me!

I am linking with Saturday Critters HERE.

  11. Yes, you do wonder why birds choose to live dangerously when an apparently good feeding spot can be yards away. A good photo opportunity for you though and a well taken shot.

  15. he is pretty and hope he moved out of the road... so why is an American Robin in Canada in the middle of your road? LOL

  16. They look so different from our English Robins that I find it difficult to understand why they have the same name. Interestingly ours were originally called Redbreasts, Robin was added as a childish nickname but then became more widely accepted. It's rather like all lambs becoming Larrys or mules becoming Muffins!

  17. Sweet capture. I love robins and they sure live life dangerously as they flit back and forth across roadways to get to grass and food. We have hit them while driving and it makes me sad.

  22. Great pic! My mom loves robins because her last name is Robbins, and they are always using that likeness for word play. For example, they call their house "The Robbins Nest."

    =)

  23. The robins are very busy in the garden right now ... finding worms, nesting, and just hopping all over the ground.
