American robin
Yesterday, I took a scenic route home from the hospital. It was raining and there were puddles, but I didn't see any worms where this robin was searching for supper. It was foraging in the middle of a country gravel road. Sounds scary to me!

ReplyDeleteYes, you do wonder why birds choose to live dangerously when an apparently good feeding spot can be yards away. A good photo opportunity for you though and a well taken shot.

ReplyDeleteThey look so different from our English Robins that I find it difficult to understand why they have the same name. Interestingly ours were originally called Redbreasts, Robin was added as a childish nickname but then became more widely accepted. It's rather like all lambs becoming Larrys or mules becoming Muffins!
ReplyDeleteSweet capture. I love robins and they sure live life dangerously as they flit back and forth across roadways to get to grass and food. We have hit them while driving and it makes me sad.

I like American robins but for cuteness they don't come anywhere close the European ones!
