The fence in my backyard looks like that. But before I get a chance to paint it, I need to paint my front steps. And before I get a chance to do that ... so it goes.
Thanks for visiting my little corner of the world. I hope you enjoyed your stay here. Please leave a comment before you leave so I can visit your blog.
No thanks!
ReplyDeleteIt may need more than a lick of paint by the look of it.
Great fence find, this fence is in need of help..Have a great day!
ReplyDeletePatina, EG. That's patina. No paint required. ;-)

ReplyDeleteReminds me of Tom Sawyer.
Nice shot. Where is Tom Sawyer when you need him? :)
ReplyDeleteI think some sandpaper might be a good place to start. It would be nice all painted in white, but it has character as it is.
ReplyDeleteI was thinking the same thing. Tom Sawyer needs to con some of his friends into doing it.
ReplyDeleteYou spotted this deterioration nicely.
ReplyDeleteIt is a nice find and I wouldn't mind painting it. It needs a good sanding would be the hard part.
ReplyDeleteNow that is a genuine picket fence. Yes, I would bring some sandpaper, too, to be sure the new paint sticks. Lovely photos.
ReplyDeleteIt's seen a lot in its time by the look of it !!
ReplyDelete...either a sand blaster to remove all the old paint and get nothing but wood showing, OR get Tom Sawyer to white wash it.
ReplyDeleteeven scraping first wouldn't help, i don't think! makes a great photo, though!
ReplyDeletethanks, cameragirl!
Looks like it might be beyond help. It makes a wonderful photo though.
ReplyDeleteDarla
Yes it does but it's till very photogenic!
ReplyDeleteGreetings, EG. Hope things are going OK up your way! I'm back posting (at least intermittently)...and I appreciate your visit!
ReplyDeleteThis poor fence needs more than a brush, methinks. A brush and some white paint would help, but sometimes one needs to start all over!
Oh yeah, of course, and I'll grab a scrapper too! Brushes in hand and ready to paint!
ReplyDeleteAgreed it need some TLC but it sure is charming the way it is! Love the yellow door! Cool click EG!
ReplyDeletePicket fences....love them brand new...love them weathered down. Great photo!
ReplyDeleteGreat texture and beauty in the photography ~ xoxo

Oh I love a white picket fence---at least I think it is supposed to be one. MB
ReplyDeleteNice shots of a old fence.
ReplyDeleteIt does need some TLC, doesn't it. But, it's still pretty in my book.
ReplyDeleteIt's the kind of chore that you tend to put off!
ReplyDeleteIt does need help but I think I will let someone else do it. Great photos!
ReplyDeleteMight be too late for some of those pickets. I like that first shot, very pretty.
ReplyDeleteIt looks like Tom Sawyer and Huck Finn are needed there! A good coat of paint and it will be great!
ReplyDeleteI think new timber may be required to correct this one!
ReplyDeleteNice shots.
ReplyDeleteI too feel Tom Sawyer's absence. :)
Oh my, it sure needs a good coat of paint.
ReplyDeleteDefinitely needs some TLC!
ReplyDeleteI like the "weathered" look!
ReplyDeleteI think the peeling paint gives it character. But, if it was my fence, I'd have to do something. White fences are pretty, but a pain to maintain.
ReplyDeleteI really like the peeling paint.
ReplyDeleteIt gives it so much wonderful texture.
The fence could use a coat of paint but I kind of like the way it looks. I have a weakness for anything in disrepair. I find beauty in the ragged.
ReplyDeleteVery 'Shabby Chic' - somebody would love this fence to decorate a wall with! :) Karen
ReplyDeleteGood shots!
ReplyDeleteJust the perfect job for Tom Sawyer! I know it needs paint, but I also love it as is.
ReplyDeleteBeen there, done that...HARD work. I sure do love that yellow front door on the house behind the fence!
ReplyDeleteNeed someone with a scraper, or a power brush first!!! I love the texture of peeling paint!
ReplyDeleteGreat shot, the fence needs a lot of work.
ReplyDeleteFabulous shot! I like the rustic look of this fence.
ReplyDeleteGet Tom Sawyer over there! And Huck Finn, too.
ReplyDelete;)
That fence needs some love.
ReplyDeleteWow, these pictures make me want to get out my scraper. I like the scraping but not the painting. lol Nice pictures.
ReplyDeleteOh, your captions gave me a smile. Yes, makes me want to paint the fence:-)
ReplyDeleteSending you Lots of Love and Hugs from Japan, xoxo Miyako*
It would look so pretty freshly painted!
ReplyDeleteLovely weathered fence but I think it need a 'lick of paint'!
ReplyDeleteReminds me of Tom Sawyer and how he got his fence painted.
ReplyDeleteWow, that does need some attention! Great old fence, though!
ReplyDeleteA fence like this is so charming as a subject of photography, but it doesn't work with a well-maintained property.
ReplyDeleteA little (or maybe a lot) of TLC would go a long way! Picket fences can be so pretty!
ReplyDeleteIt reminds me of the fence my grandpa built around his yard. Since it was wood he had to repaint it often.
