Grassy Fields

 Lines of gold and green

I very much like the contrast of the yellow fields with the green.

 Blackbirds

Blackbirds are gathering - not ready to fly south yet, though.

 A longer view of blackbirds

Almost like patchwork

  6. Gorgeous shots, and I imagine at this time of year the redwings are less likely to be territorial.

  10. I saw ONE red winged blackbird a few months ago...took a crummy picture of it. Now I'm glad I didn't post it...I would have looked really dumb after seeing this post. Love the lines of green and gold. (There's a song there somewhere!)

  17. Had to go and get the Sibley book to see the blackbirds. They are the first Bud and I have ever seen. Were really curious to read about them. In the book the red looks so tiny, but in your shots there is lots more. These are great captures. Kudos to you. Thanks for your sweet comment on Bud’s new attempt at blogging. We too, love The Virginia Creeper name. He is definitely a VA creeper at his age but he just keep on going like the Everready Bunny :-) Happy to be back with my blogging pals.

  20. I love that last pic of the fields. The gold and green is striking. The blackbirds look busy, maybe gathering leftover grain from the harvested fields.
